The war room was very stuffy, the smoke and sweat mixed together, making people choke.
Chu Hang leaned against the corner, looking at Howling Commandos's people, all with sad faces.
He knows why.
There is a design drawing of the Black Noir aircraft hanging on the wall, labeled "Valkyrie". Next to it is a world map, New York, Washington, Chicago, all marked in red circles.
Red Skull's plan.
"So, boss," the bearded Dugan said with a hoarse voice, "The mission is to get into Alps, find the madman's lair, and blow this thing and the base up to the sky?"
Everyone is looking at Peggy·Carter.
"That's understandable." Carter's voice was calm.
"How to get in?" Demolition expert Falsworth rubbed his hands, "Skydiving? The anti-aircraft firepower must be very dense. Ground penetration? We don't even have a map."
Carter only said two words.
"No."
No one spoke in the war room.
"We only have a vague coordinate range," she added. "We don't know anything about the internal structure, defense deployment, or troop strength. We only know that it is the most heavily defended core fortress of Hydra."
"Death." In the corner, Logan put away Bone Claws and spat out two words coldly.
A man walked in holding a wine glass, wearing a three-piece suit and a mustache. Howard·Stark.
"Hey, don't be so pessimistic, guys!" Howard walked to the map and flicked the design with his finger, "In my Howard·Stark's dictionary, there is no fortress that cannot be exploded!"
He paused and stared at the drawing. "However, there is indeed something about the red head of Schmidt. The design of this aircraft... is very advanced."
"But no matter how advanced the design is, it still requires energy!" He picked up a photo.
In the photo, a blue Cosmic Cube body is glowing.
Cosmic Cube.
Chu Hang's heart skipped a beat. This is what he was waiting for.
"This thing has infinite energy, but it is extremely unstable." Howard shook the photo, "In order to prevent you from being roasted into charcoal, I have prepared some small gifts."
The assistant brought in several metal boxes and opened them. Inside were rows of strange-looking weapons.
"The energy interference gun can short-circuit their weapons. The high-energy absorption grenade can explode a small-scale energy vacuum. And this combat suit has an anti-energy coating, which can save lives."
Howard shrugged after the introduction. "Of course, these things may only buy you a few seconds. What we are facing is something from mythology."
Steve·Rogers has been staring at the map. There is only a scrawled red circle on it, covering an area of dozens of square kilometers.
"The range is too large." He said solemnly, "We don't have time to search, we must find the most direct route."
He turned his head and looked at Chu Hang.
"Chu, come and see."
Everyone looked at him.
Chu Hang cursed in his heart, it's my turn again, the "Oriental magic stick".
He knew he couldn't hide it now, as it was related to whether he could touch Cosmic Cube.
There is only one thought in my mind: Cosmic Cube, Space Stone core, which has not been copied yet.
Chu Hang cleared his throat and walked over slowly. He picked up the magnifying glass, pretended to look at the map, and muttered in Chinese.
"Soldiers are also deceitful..."
Howard on the side curled his lips, he only believed in science.
Five minutes later, Chu Hang's magnifying glass stopped at an inconspicuous point in the northwest corner of the map.
"Here."
Everyone came over to take a look. It was a canyon, labeled "Todesschlucht" in German--Death Valley.
The terrain is steep and at the end is a glacier waterfall marked "extremely dangerous".
"Impossible." Colonel Phillips frowned, "This is a dead end, and the ground troops can't get through it."
"Moreover," Howard immediately agreed, "According to the thermal energy scan, the energy response here is the weakest. The base cannot be built in this kind of place."
Chu Hang scratched his head, with an innocent look on his face. "I don't know. It's just a feeling that there is something wrong here. Isn't the most dangerous place the safest place?"
It's the feeling again.
But the team members of Howling Commandos believed it. They believed Chu Hang's feeling, which was more accurate than the intelligence.
Steve glanced at Chu Hang, turned to Colonel Phillips and said, "Colonel, I believe him. Let's go in from here."
The colonel and Carter looked at each other and nodded.
"Okay." He glanced at his watch, "The transport plane will be waiting for you at the designated location at five o'clock tomorrow morning. I wish you good luck."
That night, in an officers' pub in London, the Howling Commandos occupied the largest table and filled it with wine.
This was probably their last peaceful meal.
No one mentioned tomorrow's tasks, and no one said take care. They boasted loudly, told dirty jokes, and drank one glass after another.
Chu Hang was sitting in the corner, rubbing a modified M1911 pistol. There was a small Energy Absorption device added to the gun body. He specially asked Howard to add it.
The fall of Valkyrie. Bomb the base and stop the plane.
"Fuck."
"Hey, Dongfang boy, what are you thinking about?" Logan sat across from him holding a glass of whiskey.
"Think about tomorrow's mission." Chu Hang put away the pistol.
"You look very excited." Logan said, "Aren't you afraid of death?"
"I'm afraid. If I die, I won't have any more wine to drink." Chu Hang smiled and raised his glass, "But I'm afraid it's useless. Why not think about how to get more benefits."
"Benefits?"
"For example, in Red Skull's base, I found several bottles of Germany black beer from 1928." Chu Hang clinked glasses with him.
Logan said nothing and drank all the wine in the glass. He knew that Chu Hang was lying, but he didn't bother to ask.
Not far away, Steve was standing talking to Peggy·Carter.
"You owe me that dance, wait until I come back." Steve said softly.
"Okay, I'll wait for you." Peggy's eyes were steady, "Don't be late, soldier."
Chu Hang sighed inwardly. This will last seventy years.
On the other side, Howard·Stark got rid of the crowd and came over with a wine glass in hand.
"Hey, 'Intuition Kid'!" He sat down and said, "Which Eastern witchcraft book did you read that 'what is false is what is true' that you mentioned during the day?"
""The Art of War"."
"Never heard of it." Howard curled his lips, "But I'm more interested in you as a person. You seem to know a lot of strange things. I went back and studied the 'transistor' you mentioned last time, and it was very enlightening! What else do you know?"
"I understand a little bit." Chu Hang smiled and changed the topic, "By the way, Howard, did you find anything new about that little blue square? Is it really that magical?"
"Amazing? God, it is simply the Holy Grail of physics!" Howard lowered his voice and came closer, "Its energy density, space structure... it is completely Transcendence our era! I even suspect that it comes from another universe!"
"Then how to guide its energy?" Chu Hang asked, "It sounds very unstable. It will explode if you are not careful?"
"Good question! This is exactly what I am studying!" Howard suddenly regained his energy and began to talk endlessly about the technical details of energy characteristics, safe excitation and storage.
Chu Hang remembered every word that Howard said. The scattered information was pieced together, and a plan gradually took shape.
A plan to steal the energy of Tesseract in a hail of bullets.
Drinking until midnight.
Everyone walked out of the tavern arm in arm and returned to the base. They didn't say goodbye, they just looked at each other and nodded heavily before going back to their rooms.
Chu Hang returned to the room, stood in front of the window, and looked at the London night.
The palms of my hands were slightly sweaty from excitement.
Tomorrow is the most important day since he came to this world. It is also the most dangerous day.
Success, one step to the top.
If it fails, load the file and try again.
"Red Skull, Captain America, Wolverine, Cosmic Cube..."
He whispered the names and grinned.
"Everyone is here and the stage is set up."
"Then let's start."
