Chu Hang said to Wanda and the conflicted-looking Steve beside her, "All right, we weren't too late."

The moment he finished speaking, his brows furrowed and he suddenly turned west.

There was trouble in New York.

"Don't waste time." Chu Hang's voice interrupted everyone's thoughts.

He looked at Wanda, who was tightly clutching the corner of his clothes. Her eyes were full of fear, afraid that he would disappear again.

The icy sea in Chu Hang's heart rippled as though a small stone had been dropped into it.

He reached out and ruffled her hair, his tone gentler than he himself realized. "I'll take you with me. Hold on tight."

With that, he swiped his other hand through the air.

Space tore apart like cloth, opening a pitch-black rift.

He pulled Wanda along and stepped inside.

Steve had just opened his mouth when the rift closed, as if it had never appeared.

The air in New York was thick with the stench of scorched concrete and ozone.

A massive donut-shaped ship hovered above Manhattan.

Chu Hang led Wanda out of the spatial rift, appearing right on the rooftop of a building.

Below them, the battle was dire.

Tony's nanotech armor was being pounded like a punching bag by a beast called Cull Obsidian. Red-and-gold nanoparticles continuously peeled away and reassembled, looking as though the armor could fall apart at any moment.

The other side was even worse. Strange was suspended in midair by an invisible force, being dragged bit by bit toward the tall, thin figure called Ebony Maw. His Cloak of Levitation tugged desperately at him, but it was useless.

Ebony Maw wore a smile, his fingers nearly touching the Eye of Agamotto around Strange's neck.

"One big idiot, one chatterbox," Chu Hang commented. "This is all Thanos sent?"
