Captain America: Hail Hydra

On the Quantum Tunnel platform at the Avengers Compound, everyone taking part in the time heist had assembled.

Chu Hang stood at the center of the platform and raised his right hand. A complex magic circle appeared above his palm.

Eight powers of law coursed through him. He drew out the Mental Law, turning it into transparent threads. They wove a vast web in the air, each node linked to one person's consciousness.

"This is a Mental Barrier," Chu Hang said calmly. "It will hide your presence so the 2012 version of me can't sense you. My grasp of the Mental Law was still crude back then. As long as you don't expose yourselves, this barrier should fool me."

Tony raised his arm, and F.R.I.D.A.Y. immediately began scanning. Data streamed across his armor's display, showing an energy shield around his cerebral cortex that no physical means could detect.

"How long does it last?" Tony asked.

"Six hours. Enough to finish the job." As Chu Hang spoke, the transparent threads shot out and sank into everyone's foreheads.

Steve felt gentle energy spread through his mind, as though an invisible film had settled over his consciousness. It didn't hurt, but he could clearly feel something protecting his thoughts.

"My Spatial Perception detects physical sound waves and energy fluctuations. The Mental Barrier only hides your presence on a conscious level," Chu Hang explained. "So move carefully and don't make too much noise. I should be heading through the black hole into space soon, though, so you don't need to worry too much."

"We'll deal with whatever comes." Clint checked the special arrows in his quiver. "Our objectives are clear: get the Space Stone, Mind Stone, and Time Stone, then get out."
