Time Variance Authority Arrives

The dust had not yet settled over the ruins of Avengers Compound.

Chu Hang stood where he was, looking at the people around him who had just returned from the dead. Their faces held confusion, bewilderment, and, above all, the joy of surviving a catastrophe. But that joy would soon be shattered by reality.

Steve walked over, his shield hanging on his back and dust covering his body. He looked at Chu Hang, wanting to speak but hesitating.

"What are you planning to do?" Steve finally asked.

Chu Hang knew what he was asking. Thanos was dead, the Stones were still there, and the world needed to be rebuilt. What was someone like him, who had mastered nine Laws and could kill Thanos in a single blow, supposed to do next?

"I won't interfere in Earth's affairs anymore." Chu Hang was blunt. "You can handle them yourselves."

Steve froze for a moment.

Tony walked over from the side, his faceplate retracted and exhaustion written across his face. "Wait, what do you mean? We just finished a war, and you're washing your hands of it?"

"I'm not washing my hands of it." Chu Hang looked at Tony. "You don't need me anymore."

Tony frowned. "We don't need you? Look at this mess. Do you really think we can—"

"You can." Chu Hang cut him off. "Three billion people have returned. Resource distribution, legal conflicts, international relations—you understand these problems better than I do. All I can do is forcibly suppress conflicts with my strength. But that isn't solving the problem. It's only postponing it."

Steve was silent for several seconds before nodding. "You're right."

Tony opened his mouth, but ultimately said nothing. He turned and walked away to inspect the damaged armor systems.
