Background / History

Tang San enrolls at Notting College alongside Old Jack. During their dispute with the college guards, he develops murderous intent and prepares to use a Silent Sleeve Arrow before Yu Xiaogang intervenes. At Room Seven, he reveals his innate full spirit power and Blue Silver Grass martial soul, then immediately accepts Xiao Wu's challenge. Xiao Wu defeats him decisively and takes his quilt afterward. 2 3

At Notting, Tang San regularly accompanies Xiao Wu to Lan Yu's roasted-mushroom stall, though he regards the mushrooms as ordinary while Xiao Wu becomes especially fond of them. He grows hostile toward Lan Yu because of Xiao Wu's attention and later warns Lan Yu not to pursue her. 3 4

After obtaining his first spirit ring, Tang San helps Room Seven defeat Boss Xiao. Years later, he reunites with Lan Yu in Soto City and is shaken to discover that Lan Yu has become a five-ring Soul King with five hundred-thousand-year spirit rings, far surpassing Tang San's own progress. 4 10

At the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Tournament, Tang San secretly inserts poisoned fine needles into his Blue Silver Grass vines during Shrek's match against Star Luo Royal Academy. Golden Crocodile Douluo exposes the cheating, resulting in Shrek Academy's arrest and disqualification. 43 44

Tang Hao later breaks Tang San out of Spirit Hall's prison, but sacrifices himself to delay Qian Daoliu. After witnessing his father's death, Tang San escapes through a blood-colored divine barrier and is teleported to the Capital of Slaughter. 45

Tang San is fiercely protective of Xiao Wu, but his attachment is repeatedly expressed through jealousy toward Lan Yu and attempts to dictate whom Xiao Wu may approach. He remains devoted to her even after she physically defeats him and publicly rejects his intrusive behavior. 2 3 5
