Background / History
The creature originated in the Jade Sea, where it slept through the Long Night roughly eight thousand years ago. It awoke only half a year before its encounter with Joffrey, amid the return of Magic Power and the decline of the world’s Spiritual Energy. It recalled that its former master had begun to grow tired after the Andals came to Westeros and had ceased personally visiting it after the Rhoynar arrival. 239
Euron Greyjoy summoned and forcibly controlled the Sea Monster through his Black-Pupiled Blood Eye. At Pyke, it coiled around the main keep, smashed through its walls, and fed on corpses and living captives. Joffrey planted Fire Magic Energy in the bodies it swallowed, detonating the charge inside it and forcing both creature and controller to flee westward. 169 170
Euron’s control was unstable: operating the intelligent creature strained his mind and Blood Eye, while the Sea Monster’s pain was transmitted back to him with doubled intensity. During the Royal Fleet’s hunt near the Shield Islands, it rejected Euron entirely and displayed its own will, prompting Joffrey to attempt communication rather than immediately destroy it. 227 228 230
Joffrey granted the nameless creature an Information Rune to enable speech. It identified itself only by the names others had given it, then warned Joffrey that he would soon learn why it had served Euron. Soon afterward, a higher will connected through the Rune exploited the Magic Web and used the Sea Monster as its vessel or “pet” in negotiations with Joffrey. 231 233 234
The Sea Monster destroyed the fleet’s depth-charge encirclement, survived a massive naval bombardment, and fought the transformed Divine Grace in a storm. After being pinned to the seabed and severely wounded, it surrendered on Greyshield. Joffrey healed it, named it Siren Kraken, and ordered it to guard the waters in the Sea God’s name. 232 237 238
Afterward, Siren Kraken accompanied the fleet back to Oakenshield and supplied Joffrey with information on ancient history, supernatural ranks, and advancement knowledge. It later showed strong interest in gaining the authorities of Flames and Light. 239 246
Appearance
Siren Kraken is an immense, squid-like sea creature whose body was initially described as at least one hundred meters long. Its eight arms can encircle a fortress, while two longer tentacles serve as powerful striking and grasping limbs. 169
- Its skin has appeared ghastly white and crimson, covered in slime and marked by blue-green blood when injured. 230 238
- It can change its coloration freely, including a brilliant gold-and-silver form that makes it appear almost sacred. 231
- Its tentacles conceal layers of sharp, curved, pale teeth beneath the skin; these teeth do not change color with the rest of its body. 231
- Its large eyes can convey curiosity and excitement, but later shone with an ancient, cold golden intelligence. 230 233
Personality
While under Euron’s control, the Sea Monster behaved like a ravenous weapon, consuming corpses and living victims without hesitation. Once freed, it displayed a markedly different demeanor: curious about ships and humans, responsive to Joffrey’s requests, and seemingly eager to show off its color-changing ability. 169 230 231
Its apparent innocence was deceptive. It understood human messages before gaining speech, deliberately restrained itself when threatened, and later used the Information Rune with exceptional ingenuity against the fleet’s weapons. 230 233
Following its capture, Siren Kraken became fearful and compliant toward Joffrey due to its contractual oath and the king’s superior power. It is also ambitious, responding eagerly to the prospect of receiving additional divine authorities. 239 246
Abilities & Skills
Immense Aquatic Physiology
Siren Kraken possesses overwhelming strength and mobility in the sea.
- Its arms and tentacles were capable of surrounding Pyke’s main keep, shattering stone walls, and seizing groups of people at once. 169
- It moves underwater by firing powerful jets of water from its body, allowing it to travel at extreme speed. 170
- It can remain and maneuver on the seabed, where conventional ship cannons have limited effectiveness. 227 233
- It wrapped all eight arms around the transformed Divine Grace and briefly restrained the giant’s movements. 236
Storm and Sea Manipulation
Its cries and movement can disturb the sea on a massive scale.
- It summoned violent wind, rain, waves, and a thunderstorm during the fleet battle. 228 236
- Its underwater movements generated powerful waves capable of threatening even heavily reinforced warships. 233
- By crying from beneath the seabed, it caused the sea to boil and filled the surface with dead fish and shrimp. 232
- It created corrosive black ink that polluted the sea and endangered the surrounding fleet. 237
Siren Voice
The Sea Monster’s voice possesses supernatural effects beyond ordinary sound.
- Its cries can enthrall listeners, replacing fear with admiration, fulfillment, or peaceful intoxication. 230
- A stronger sound wave silenced hundreds of warships and sent their crews into blissful sleep; those protected by Divine Grace Light Screens instead experienced visions of the Seven Hells. 232
- Its Voice can be imbued with Magic Power to interfere with the Information Magic Power on munitions, prematurely detonating depth charges and disrupting explosive cannon fire. 233
- The Divine Grace Light Screen significantly reduced the effectiveness of its enchantment on Joffrey’s fleet. 230
Information Rune Adaptation
Joffrey granted Siren Kraken a single Information Rune Mirror Image so it could communicate verbally. 231
- It learned to use the Rune almost immediately and used sound to manipulate the fleet’s Information-based explosives. 233
- A higher will later connected through the Rune, gaining partial control of the Magic Web’s preset Magic Power and establishing a domain around the Sea Monster. 234
- Joffrey eventually suppressed that domain from roughly one thousand meters to three hundred meters. 234 235
Ancient Knowledge
Siren Kraken retains knowledge from its long existence and its association with an older supernatural power.
- It knows of the decline of Spiritual Energy and the historical disappearance of mythical creatures. 239
- It identified the known progression of supernatural ranks as Heroes, Great Heroes, Supreme Heroes, demigods, and deities. 239
- It provided Joffrey with the first portion of advancement knowledge required under their oath. 239
Relationships
- King Joffrey Baratheon — Former enemy who defeated, healed, named, and bound it as Siren Kraken; Joffrey later uses it as a source of ancient knowledge and advancement information. 238 239
- Euron “Crow’s Eye” Greyjoy — Former controller who summoned it and compelled it through his Black-Pupiled Blood Eye; Siren Kraken ultimately rejected him. 169 227 230
- Higher Will / Former Master — An unknown supernatural being that regarded the Sea Monster as a pet and connected through its Information Rune during the naval confrontation. 234 235
- Theon Greyjoy — Witnessed Siren Kraken’s defeat and naming; Joffrey designated Theon the first Warrior beneath the Sea God’s seat. 238

Trivia
- Before receiving the Information Rune, Siren Kraken could understand Joffrey’s messages but could communicate only through cries, gestures, and body language. 230 231
- It has killed at least two Great Heroes in the past: one with the authority of Flames and another with earth authority. 239
- A Spiritual Crystal was sufficient to sustain its consumption for approximately ten days. 239
