This was the largest Armed Merchant Ship Li Qinwu had ever seen. With such a terrifying volume, it was practically approaching Battleship territory!
However, unlike Imperium warships, whose surfaces bristled with Lances, Macro Cannons, torpedo tubes, and all sorts of protrusions.
The outer hull of an Armed Merchant Ship was exceptionally smooth, making it look like a rectangular box flying through the sky.

The purpose of this law was easy enough to understand: it prevented planetary conglomerates from building massive warships and establishing their own independent fiefdoms.
Besides, legitimate merchants could not be bothered to install too many weapons on their transport ships. A few were enough to handle small pirate vessels. If they encountered large pirate raiders, they still had to rely on engine power to escape.
What was the point of installing so many guns? They could not beat warships anyway, and the weapons took up space, sacrificing cargo capacity.
