Over the next few days, Li Qinwu had nothing to do, so he stayed in the bunker and hung out with the Astartes.
This bunker was the Astartes' temporary base. All the Astartes had to return here to rest and recuperate.
The Astartes were very busy. About thirty or forty of them formed a squad, and after returning to rest for less than half a day, they would head back out to fight. Each company had more than fifty members, but it had never once been complete.
However, the Astartes in certain special positions did not go out every day. Instead, they remained in the bunker to keep the base running.
For example, there was Dolong, the company commander; Leisase, the chaplain; and Buddas, the Chapter Librarian.
The three of them stayed in the bunker, either directing the overall operation, making Purity Seals, or providing medical support.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, Li Qinwu tried to engage the Astartes in more in-depth conversations.
He started with Chaplain Leisase. The man had a prayer room in the bunker, and inside the prayer room was an Emperor Shrine containing a large number of pieces of parchment.
Chaplain Leisase prayed as he wrote on the parchment, making Purity Seals.
Li Qinwu watched from the side as he made a Purity Seal from scratch.
The Astartes chaplain was highly skilled. The Purity Seals he made contained a tremendous amount of the Emperor's Psychic Power—more than ten times that of the Purity Seals made by mortal priests.
When it came to defending against Daemons, this stuff really worked.
After watching him finish, Li Qinwu went over and struck up a conversation, asking how holy items were made.
"The key is piety!"
Chaplain Leisase said.
"As long as you are pious and your heart is free
