Tank Battle

The tanks on both sides started blazing away from four kilometers apart, sending large-caliber shells flying everywhere.

Leman Russ tanks mainly carried three kinds of ammunition: High-explosive rounds, armor-piercing rounds, and armor-piercing explosive shells.

The Ork tanks were enormous, and their internal machinery was absurdly complicated. Unless they were blown to pieces, who knew whether they would stop?

High-explosive rounds could not penetrate their armor. Armor-piercing rounds could, but they were just solid lumps of metal. They punched straight through without doing much damage to the Ork tanks.

That made the compromise option, armor-piercing explosive shells, the deadliest weapon against Ork tanks!

Every Leman Russ tank fired armor-piercing explosive shells. These shells had enough penetration to burrow into the Ork tanks before exploding, either detonating the ammunition inside or turning the tanks into burning metal coffins!

The Chimera Transports used their 40mm autocannons to fire steel darts. Made from special alloys, these darts bored holes wherever they struck the Ork tanks' armor!

Although they could not destroy the tanks outright, spraying those darts at the optical targeting systems on the turrets and the gaps between turret and hull still put plenty of Ork tank guns out of action.

The very first volley wiped out twenty percent of the Ork tanks.

The Leman Russ tanks' fire was accurate and vicious. Every shell struck an Ork tank with pinpoint precision and blew it up.

That was hardly surprising. Every Leman Russ tank was manufactured through a complex industrial system, and its crew had a high-school level of education.

The Orks, by contrast, cobbled their tanks together from piles of assorted scrap armor plates. Their ignition system consisted of a hard kick to the engine.
