With all matters on the Industrial World settled, three months later, Inquisitor Thraxol's fleet completed its resupply and prepared to depart.

Over those three months, all of Li Qinwu's Knight Mechs had been repaired, and the supplies had been delivered.

The tanks, armored vehicles, Power Armor, and various heavy weapons had all been restored to peak condition.

Then there were the things Tech-Priest Busi had secured for Li Qinwu.

Ten nuclear bombs with a yield of fifty megatons each, enough Power Armor and heavy weapons to outfit all of Li Qinwu's infantry, two Camel-type Shuttles, and a Skitarii regiment of three thousand men.

When Tech-Priest Busi told Li Qinwu that he had acquired a Skitarii regiment, Li Qinwu was stunned.

The Skitarii were troops exclusive to the Adeptus Mechanicus. Every one of them was a heavily augmented human, capable of adapting to environments that most ordinary people could not endure.

High temperatures, intense radiation, highly toxic chemical environments—places ordinary infantry could not enter were exactly where they belonged.

Their combat effectiveness also surpassed that of ordinary Astra Militarum soldiers. A regular Astra Militarum soldier, even carrying supplies, could fight continuously for at most half a month.

Skitarii soldiers could fight for years without supplies.

The high-energy batteries in their bodies were far more useful than the water and rations carried by the Astra Militarum.

Their mechanical legs ran faster and longer than flesh-and-blood legs. Their Electronic Eyes saw farther than human eyes, and they even possessed thermal vision.

Most importantly, they would never suffer a morale collapse!

A compulsory control unit was implanted in every Skitarii soldier's brain. Anyone with the proper authorization could take over their bodies and make them carry out certain-death missions without emotion!
