The landing Shuttle exploded outright, and seventy Aeldari Warriors were possessed by Body-Snatching Monsters.
The remaining Aeldari Warriors had barely recovered from the Explosion and found their footing before their possessed comrades attacked them.
Aeldari Power Swords, Star Marker Pistols, and Star Marker Rifles struck with vicious force.
Both sides moved incredibly fast. Less than a minute into the firefight, both had suffered heavy casualties.
The clear-minded Aeldari Warriors suffered the greater losses, mainly because they held back. They had all been comrades aboard the same Shuttle moments ago, and after their comrades were possessed, they could not bear to shoot them. As a result, they took a barrage of star markers.
As for the possessed Aeldari Warriors, their bodies were controlled by soul fragments, and they were not even their own bodies, so their movements were clumsy and their combat power plummeted.
After more than twenty still-sane Aeldari Warriors were killed, the remaining dozen or so began fleeing for their lives under the leadership of Warlock Daal.
But to the Eldar, the Crone World was a death world brimming with malice.
They had not run far when several Body-Snatching Monsters sleeping amid the ruins woke up and lunged straight at their faces like ghosts.
Even six heavily armored veterans could not withstand rats leaping at their faces, let alone Aeldari Warriors facing Body-Snatching Monsters.
The terrified Aeldari Warriors could not react in time and were instantly possessed when the monsters lunged at them.
The Aeldari Warriors fought back with Star Marker Pistols and Aeldari Power Swords, but the Body-Snatching Monsters had no physical form. Those purple elven bodies were merely shapes they had conjured.
No matter how this group of Aeldari Warriors attacked, they could not stop the Body-Snatching Monsters.
