A Solar Sail was essentially the engine of an Aeldari Battleship. It looked much like the sails of human wind-powered warships from the Age of Discovery, only far larger, ranging from several hundred to several thousand meters in length.
Solar Sails were made of Wraithbone, though a special kind whose surface resembled transparent glass crystal.
By burning Psychic Power and absorbing Solar Ions, they could propel a warship to unimaginable speeds.
Aeldari warships were incredibly fast largely because they had mastered Solar Sails.
The Adeptus Mechanicus had once shot down an Aeldari Battleship and obtained Solar Sail samples, yet they had never figured out how the things actually worked.
The Farseer looked at Li Qinwu in utter confusion.
"Human, what do you want Solar Sails for? They're completely useless to you!"
Their Exploration Vessel was a specially designed Warp exploration ship. Its defining feature was its exceptionally powerful Warp isolation, preventing the Eldar from being captured by Slaanesh the moment they entered the Warp.
It was also extremely fast, reducing the time they had to spend traveling through the Warp.
The Exploration Vessel was equipped with six enormous Solar Sails, each roughly eight hundred meters long and three hundred meters wide vertically, with an elliptical shape.
The surging power supplied by those six massive Solar Sails made the Exploration Vessel one of the fastest Aeldari warships.

The Farseer hesitated slightly. Solar Sails were not particularly important to the Eldar.
They could be mass-produced anyway. As long as the Bonesingers kept playing their flutes, Wraithbone could grow into Solar Sails out of thin air. It was no different from humans building warship engines.
