Lucius gutted Bruce Crocodile outright, pulling out his stomach and intestines, then running through them inch by inch.
After all that searching, he found nothing but shit.
Splat. With a casual flick, Lucius tossed Bruce Crocodile's heart, liver, spleen, lungs, and kidneys onto the ground.
Lucius turned and fixed Bone Terminator with a dark look.
"Where's the ring?"
Bone Terminator swallowed.
"Lucius, the ring is in that crocodile's belly. Look again, carefully! I saw him swallow it with my own eyes!"
Lucius took a deep breath, then smiled.
The sight of that smile instantly sent chills down Bone Terminator's spine.
How would you feel if your boss smiled at you after you'd made a huge mistake?
"Heh, haha, hahahaha!
Bone Man, tell me, is guarding an artifact some incredibly difficult, grueling, impossible task?"
As he spoke, Lucius approached Bone Man.
Bone Terminator swallowed and took several steps back.
"Lucius, look again, carefully. That ring has to be in the crocodile's belly.
I watched him swallow it, and I chased him the whole time afterward. He never had a chance to spit it out.
Look again. Look properly!"
Lucius ignored him and kept advancing, step by step.
"Bone Man, I'm certain I searched properly. I went through that damned crocodile's heart, liver, spleen, lungs, and kidneys.
Nothing! That damned ring wasn't there!"
Lucius stopped ten body lengths in front of Bone Terminator. Left with no choice, Bone Terminator raised his Noise Gun and aimed it at Lucius.
