Ch. 942A council of folly

Shui Rou urged the council to give the Inquisitor a Protector-class Battleship to prove the T'au were controllable and save the planet’s eight million people. Fengxi held the deciding vote, but feared both surrendering a battleship and facing defeat.

  • Shui Rou argued that the Inquisitor’s demand for a battleship was a test of obedience and that compliance might persuade him to leave for more urgent conflicts.
  • Fengxi refused to give up a battleship, while the Flameburst Commander threatened Shui Rou for proposing to surrender one of the fleet’s vital assets.
  • Shui Rou said compliance could spare eight million people from abandonment, whereas evacuation could save only two hundred thousand, and Leitu voted in favor of her plan.
  • The Flameburst Commander objected and prepared to arrest Li Qinwu and evacuate two hundred thousand people if Fengxi rejected the proposal.
  • The council looked to Fengxi for the deciding vote as he struggled between protecting the fleet and fearing defeat.

Ch. 943What Normal Person Keeps a Diary?

Shui Rou persuaded Commander Fengxi to support surrendering one of the T'au warships by appealing to his fear of spending decades in space and to the duty of protecting the people on Sweet Star. Fengxi agreed, and the group began discussing how to hand a ship over to Li Qinwu.

  • Fengxi weighed the prospect of fleeing aboard a warship for decades while Shui Rou reminded him that their ancestors had endured a seventy-year voyage.
  • Shui Rou argued that they could not abandon Sweet Star's eight million residents when only two hundred thousand could escape, while Flameburst Commander mocked her proposal.
  • Shui Rou presented Li Qinwu's diary as reassurance that he valued the people and government of Sweet Star.
  • Fengxi agreed to surrender a warship, and Shui Rou declared the motion passed by three votes to one.
  • Flameburst Commander protested that no respectable person kept a diary as the others discussed how to transfer a warship to Li Qinwu.

Ch. 944Commemorating victory in war

Li Qinwu and the T'au arranged a cautious month-long exchange of white sugar, technology, and a disarmed Protector Warship, with Li Qinwu remaining on Sweet Star as a hostage. While touring Hive City, he accused the T'au of commemorating their conquest with Peace Square’s monument, prompting the Flameburst Commander to suspect he was hiding something and order him watched closely.

  • Li Qinwu and the T'au agreed that his small Armed Merchant Ships would collect white sugar one at a time while a disarmed, uncrewed Protector Warship was prepared for delivery over the course of a month.
  • Li Qinwu agreed to remain on Sweet Star as a hostage during the exchange and leave aboard the final sugar-carrying ship once the deal was complete.
  • A human official showed Li Qinwu Peace Square, where Li Qinwu recognized the Peace Monument as a replacement for a statue of the God-Emperor and denounced it as a memorial to the T'au victory and invasion.
  • The Flameburst Commander monitored Li Qinwu and wondered whether he was concealing a threat, then ordered the hidden XV25 Stealthsuit team to keep watch and restrain him if necessary.

Ch. 945Secret Front

Chapter Summary: “Secret Front”

Plot Points and Events

  • While the T’au concentrate on Li Qinwu and the fleet in the Asteroid Belt, they fail to detect an infiltration team landing on their planet.
  • Three nearly fully enhanced Astartes recruits—Genpei, Yamashita Maru, and Little Andrew—are sent by Li Qinwu on a reconnaissance mission.
  • Having reached their seventeenth enhancement procedure, the recruits possess abilities close to those of fully completed Astartes, but still need real combat experience to become true Angels of Death.
  • Their objectives are:
    1. Determine whether any Imperium resistance groups remain on the planet and establish contact with them.
    2. Infiltrate the T’au Planetary Computer and upload a destructive USB device modeled after the one that previously crippled the T’au on Water Blue Star.
  • The team lands secretly in a primeval forest using a stealth shuttle and begins moving toward a high-authority T’au enforcement bureau.
  • Little Andrew identifies a first-level enforcement bureau through intercepted T’au communications. Hacking it could reveal records of anti-terrorist operations and expose the locations of surviving Imperium resistance forces.
  • The mission is part of Li Qinwu’s broader plan to prepare a planetary uprising. Once the Eldar Solar Sail is completed in one month, he intends to launch the final campaign against the T’au.

Character Developments

  • Genpei acts as the squad’s apparent leader, organizing the mission and directing the team toward the enforcement bureau.
  • Yamashita Maru serves as a mobile combat specialist, equipped with a Bolt Carbine and Eldar nuclear grenades. His psychic abilities allow him to use the grenades effectively.
  • Little Andrew is the squad’s technical and intelligence expert. His computer system enables them to track T’au communications, locate key facilities, and potentially hack both enforcement networks and the Planetary Computer.
  • The three recruits begin their transition from enhanced trainees into experienced Astartes warriors, gaining their first major field mission under dangerous conditions.
  • The chapter also emphasizes that the Broken-Winged Angel Chapter’s sanctified Gene-seed grants its Astartes psychic potential, expanding their tactical capabilities.

Significant Themes

  • Preparation and patience: Li Qinwu’s apparent cooperation and distraction of the T’au conceal a long-term plan for their destruction.
  • Asymmetric warfare: A small, stealth-equipped team attempts to undermine a powerful regime through reconnaissance, hacking, sabotage, and alliance-building rather than open combat.
  • Transformation through battle: The recruits’ deployment reflects the belief that combat experience is necessary to complete their development into true Astartes.
  • Technology as a weapon: T’au surveillance systems, stealth technology, computers, and the destructive USB device are all repurposed against the regime.
  • Resistance and restoration: Finding surviving Imperium loyalists is essential to restoring Imperial rule and turning the coming revolt into a coordinated uprising.

Character Interactions

  • Genpei consults Little Andrew about the mission plan, confirming his role as the squad’s field commander.
  • Little Andrew provides the team with intelligence and identifies the enforcement bureau that may contain information on resistance movements.
  • The three operate as a specialized unit, combining Genpei’s leadership, Yamashita Maru’s combat and psychic abilities, and Little Andrew’s technological expertise.
  • Their mission reflects Li Qinwu’s trust in their capabilities, while also showing his caution in assigning them reconnaissance and infiltration tasks rather than a direct assault.

Ch. 946Secret Front 2

Summary of “Secret Front 2”

Plot Points and Events

  • Genpei, Little Andrew, and Yamashita Maru infiltrate a massive T’au law-enforcement bureau in a Secondary Hive City. The bureau oversees criminal cases for nearly 500 million people and employs more than 500,000 staff.
  • Using optical camouflage, they ambush and kill a mid-ranking T’au officer leaving work. Little Andrew steals and deciphers his identification credentials, then records his facial features, eyes, and other biometric data to create a convincing identity.
  • The trio enters the heavily guarded bureau undetected. Little Andrew bypasses scanners by directly interfacing with them, allowing the group to reach the archive repository.
  • They kill the elderly T’au archivist guarding the repository and connect Little Andrew’s equipment to the archive computer.
  • The records reveal that the T’au destroyed the planet’s organized Imperium resistance roughly twenty years earlier. They massacred nearly 50 million people, including former Planetary Defense Force soldiers, Imperial Cult members, and loyal Imperial citizens.
  • The surviving loyalists are elderly and were people who avoided joining the resistance. The T’au classify them as dangerous, restrict their resources, and force them and their descendants into the lowest social positions.
  • Genpei concludes that the original mission—finding an existing resistance organization—is impossible because the T’au eradicated it. He redirects the team toward locating and contacting the Planetary Computer.
  • Little Andrew identifies a possible way to revive resistance through You He, a human commander who leads 10,000 elite Human Auxiliary Army soldiers and has influence over approximately 20 million human auxiliaries across the planet.
  • The records state that You He suffered a psychological change after participating in a T’au counterterrorism campaign. Although the T’au interpret this as post-traumatic stress disorder, Little Andrew believes it is something more significant and is confident he can persuade You He to rebel.

Character Developments

  • Genpei remains pragmatic and mission-focused. After learning that the resistance was destroyed, he quickly abandons the failed objective and adopts a new strategy centered on the Planetary Computer.
  • Little Andrew demonstrates advanced technical and investigative abilities, including biometric replication, security-system infiltration, and rapid archival analysis. He also shows strategic insight by identifying You He as a potential resistance leader.
  • Yamashita Maru is initially skeptical that You He’s relatively small force could challenge the T’au, but Little Andrew explains the broader influence of the Human Auxiliary Army.
  • You He, though absent from the chapter, is introduced as a highly influential human officer whose experiences during anti-resistance operations may have caused him to question T’au rule.

Significant Themes

  • Erasure and oppression: The T’au have not merely defeated the Imperium resistance; they have systematically eliminated its supporters, buried the dead in mass graves, and suppressed the survivors’ descendants.
  • Resistance through influence: Even when organized rebellion has been destroyed, resistance may emerge through influential individuals embedded within the ruling system.
  • Psychological trauma and awakening: You He’s mental transformation suggests that participation in repression may have awakened doubts or guilt, creating a potential opening for rebellion.
  • Technological infiltration: The chapter emphasizes espionage, biometric deception, hacking, and stealth as essential tools in a conflict where conventional resistance has been crushed.
  • Class and generational control: The T’au maintain power by reducing loyalist families to a permanent underclass, preventing them from recovering political or military influence.

Character Interactions

  • Genpei questions Little Andrew when the archive data reveals the resistance’s destruction, and the team discusses whether the mission can still succeed.
  • Genpei and Yamashita Maru initially regard the situation as hopeless, while Little Andrew challenges that conclusion by presenting You He’s file.
  • Yamashita Maru doubts the importance of You He’s 10,000 soldiers, but Little Andrew explains their strategic position, their proximity to the Planetary Computer, and You He’s authority among the wider auxiliary forces.
  • Genpei questions whether You He can truly be converted, but Little Andrew confidently insists that You He’s unusual psychological state provides an opportunity.

Ch. 947Secret Front 3

Chapter Summary: “Secret Front 3”

Key Plot Points and Events

  • Li Qinwu continues his public inspection of Sweet Star while secretly being monitored by numerous invisible combat suits and cameras. At a roadside stall, the owner gives him an extra T'au-style takoyaki ball. Li interprets the planet’s cheerful atmosphere and high modernization as evidence that its people have achieved genuine inner peace, contrasting them with Terra’s materialism and stress. His written report ends with praise for the food.
  • In the Secondary Hive City Law Enforcement Bureau, Little Andrew, Genpei, and Yamashita Maru finish stealing information from the archives. They have killed a T'au archivist and must conceal the body to avoid alerting the authorities.
  • Andrew leads them to a refrigerated evidence room formerly used to store “People’s Fragments.” They hide the corpse in a ventilation duct, where the extreme cold will preserve and conceal it. Before leaving, Andrew steals an item he claims can “stir up the restless hearts of an entire planet,” suggesting the group is preparing a major act of subversion.
  • In the Main Hive City, You He patrols the facility containing the Planetary Computer, the AI system responsible for Sweet Star’s prosperity. Recently promoted to command ten thousand Human Auxiliary Army soldiers, he should feel honored, but his conscience remains troubled by the death of an old man during a previous anti-terrorist operation.
  • You He tries to arrange a date with Shui Rou during his leave, but she refuses because she is occupied with an important secret task. Alone and emotionally unsettled, he spends the day wandering the Hive City before resting in Peace Square.
  • As he leaves the square, You He steps on a huge-caliber bullet, ending the chapter on a suspicious and threatening discovery.

Character Developments

  • Li Qinwu presents himself as an ordinary tourist and writes a favorable account of Sweet Star, but the intense surveillance surrounding him emphasizes that his actions are being carefully watched. His observations also reveal his tendency to analyze societies and compare Sweet Star with Terra.
  • Little Andrew demonstrates technical expertise, initiative, and ruthlessness. He hacks security systems, devises a practical method for hiding the corpse, and acquires a mysterious object intended to influence public sentiment.
  • You He experiences growing psychological and moral conflict. Although officially praised and promoted, he cannot dismiss the old man’s final expression and suspects that his trauma is rooted in guilt or doubt rather than combat stress. His loneliness deepens after Shui Rou rejects his invitation.

Significant Themes

  • The contrast between appearance and reality: Sweet Star appears peaceful and prosperous, but its heavy surveillance, secret killings, and political repression reveal an underlying instability.
  • Control versus resistance: The T'au maintain order through technology, education, surveillance, and the Planetary Computer, while Andrew’s group works covertly to undermine that control.
  • Moral awakening and doubt: You He’s memories suggest that loyalty to the T'au system is beginning to fracture as he questions the meaning of the old man’s death.
  • Manipulation of public emotion: Andrew’s stolen device appears designed to provoke unrest, highlighting the importance of controlling—or disrupting—the emotional state of an entire population.
  • Isolation: Li Qinwu operates under surveillance, Andrew’s team works clandestinely, and You He spends his leave alone, reinforcing the atmosphere of secrecy and alienation.

Character Interactions

  • Li Qinwu communicates with the food stall owner through the horse-faced official, creating a brief, seemingly friendly exchange that also underscores cultural and linguistic separation.
  • Genpei relies on Andrew’s knowledge when deciding how to dispose of the body, establishing Andrew as the group’s technical and operational authority.
  • You He’s attempted conversation with Shui Rou reveals their emotional distance: he seeks companionship, while she prioritizes her undisclosed mission.
  • You He’s interactions are increasingly defined by absence—especially the dead old man whose final expression continues to affect him and the unavailable Shui Rou—leaving him vulnerable as the chapter closes with the discovery of the bullet.

Ch. 94860 Years

Chapter Summary: “60 Years”

Key Plot Points and Events

  • You He examines a massive bullet found at Peace Square and recognizes it as a Bolt Round, compatible with his Bolt Pistol. Testing it in the weapon leaves him disturbed, sensing that an unseen force is drawing him toward some larger mystery.
  • The next day, he returns to the outskirts of the primeval forest, where his squad previously fought terrorists, hoping to uncover answers.
  • At the river dock, he unexpectedly meets the same boatman who transported him during the earlier battle. The boatman explains that the speedboat You He remembers being destroyed was company property and had already been replaced.
  • You He asks to revisit the battlefield, but when the boatman says he must first take his fishing nets home, You He realizes this is an opportunity to meet the elderly relative he previously heard about.
  • As they walk through the nearby fishing village, the boatman describes the residents’ difficult lives: they farm sugarcane during the growing season and fish during the slack season, but poor harvests, limited infrastructure, and low income have left the town impoverished.
  • You He asks about the old man, who is bedridden with rheumatism and increasingly mentally confused. The boatman also confirms that the old man once gave leftover food to the terrorists, though he insists the man was acting out of pity rather than supporting them.
  • The boatman encourages You He to question the old man directly, since the elderly man may still reveal whatever information he can.

Character Developments

  • You He: Becomes increasingly anxious and suspicious as the Bolt Round appears connected to him through some mysterious bloodline or hidden force. Rather than ignoring the mystery, he actively retraces his steps and seeks out people connected to the previous battle.
  • The Boatman: Reappears as a friendly, talkative, and practical figure. He remains grateful that he survived the earlier firefight and is protective of his elderly relative, immediately becoming defensive when he thinks You He intends to punish the old man.
  • The Old Man: Though he does not appear directly, he is established as a potentially important source of information. His physical illness and deteriorating mental state may make communication difficult, but his past contact with the terrorists links him to You He’s investigation.

Significant Themes

  • A hidden connection to the past: The Bolt Round evokes something ancient and familiar in You He, suggesting that his identity or lineage may be tied to forces beyond his understanding.
  • The pull of fate or destiny: You He feels drawn toward the mystery almost involuntarily, as if an unseen “net” is closing around him.
  • Unequal prosperity: The contrast between affluent Hive City and the impoverished rural village exposes the social and economic divisions within Sweet Star.
  • Compassion versus guilt: The old man’s assistance to the terrorists is presented as an act of pity rather than treason, raising questions about how ordinary people become involved in larger conflicts.
  • Searching for truth: You He returns to the battlefield and follows personal connections in an effort to understand events that initially seemed inexplicable.

Significant Character Interactions

  • You He handles and tests the Bolt Round, confronting the unsettling connection between the ammunition and his weapon.
  • He reunites with the boatman, who recounts their shared experience in the forest and explains the replacement of the destroyed boat.
  • During their walk, You He learns about the village’s hardships and questions the boatman about the old man’s age, condition, and relationship with the terrorists.
  • The boatman initially fears You He wants revenge, but after You He clarifies his intentions, he invites him to speak with the old man directly.

Ch. 94960 Years 2

Chapter Summary

You He follows a boatman to his impoverished riverside home, where he is shocked by the extreme poverty and neglect. The dilapidated courtyard and the boatman’s bedridden, helpless grandfather contrast sharply with the prosperous society promised by the T’au’s Greater Good. The boatman explains that his town has remained unchanged for more than sixty years, lacking even an elementary school, revealing a major gap between official claims and rural reality.
After paying the boatman generously to take him to a nearby nature reserve, You He asks to speak privately with the old man. Although the grandfather appears senile and incoherent, You He tests him by placing an Imperial Bolt Pistol in his hand. The weapon—and particularly the Imperial Aquila—suddenly restores the old man’s awareness. He speaks clearly in an unfamiliar dialect, suggesting that he possesses crucial information connected to the weapon.
The boatman cannot understand the dialect, so he fetches Old Lu, an elderly local who remembers the language. Old Lu and the grandfather converse at length, while You He anxiously waits for a translation. The key revelation is that the old man recognizes the weapon as a “commissar’s gun” and asks how it came to be there, implying that the commissar may have died.

Character Developments and Interactions

  • You He becomes increasingly suspicious of the T’au’s claims about prosperity and the Greater Good after witnessing the town’s poverty. His reaction to the Bolt Pistol demonstrates his determination to uncover the truth.
  • The boatman is portrayed as poor but dutiful, caring for his incapacitated grandfather. The large payment from You He astonishes him and gives him an incentive to assist.
  • The grandfather shifts dramatically from apparent dementia to alertness when exposed to the Imperial weapon, revealing a buried connection to the past.
  • Old Lu serves as the only available translator for the nearly forgotten dialect and becomes essential to interpreting the grandfather’s testimony.
  • The meeting among You He, the boatman, the grandfather, and Old Lu establishes a link between the rural town, the Imperial past, and the mysterious disappearance or death of a commissar.

Significant Themes

  • The disparity between propaganda and reality: The T’au promise universal prosperity, but rural communities remain neglected and impoverished.
  • Historical memory and suppression: The forgotten dialect and the grandfather’s sudden recollection suggest that important history has been lost or deliberately obscured.
  • Objects as triggers of memory: The Bolt Pistol and Imperial Aquila awaken the grandfather’s identity and memories.
  • Neglect under authoritarian systems: The town’s lack of education and development raises questions about how the Greater Good is actually administered.
  • A mystery connected to the Imperium: The grandfather’s reference to a dead commissar hints at a concealed conflict or event from decades earlier.

Ch. 95060 Years 3

Chapter Summary

Key Plot Points and Events

  • You He asks about the “political commissars,” initially mistaking them for terrorists. Through Old Lu’s translation, the boatman’s grandfather explains that they were members of the resistance who continued fighting the T’au after Sweet Star fell under alien rule.
  • The grandfather reveals that Sweet Star was once part of the human Imperium, a vast galactic government ruled by the God-Emperor from Terra.
  • This revelation shocks You He because T’au education has taught him that Sweet Star was formerly ruled by violent warlords and was rescued by the T’au, who brought peace and prosperity through the Greater Good.
  • The grandfather explains that the planet was secretly conquered sixty years earlier. T’au agents murdered loyal Imperial officials, replaced them with puppets, and gradually weakened the planet’s military through the “New Army Policy.”
  • Sweet Star’s forces were reduced from roughly fifty million Imperial-loyal troops to fewer than one million, then rebuilt as a large but politically controlled puppet army.
  • After two decades of gradual infiltration and policy changes, the T’au openly occupied positions of authority. Imperial loyalists finally recognized the invasion and organized a resistance movement.
  • The grandfather joined the political commissars, but their planned uprising was betrayed and crushed. He survived only because he was away at sea performing piloting and intelligence work when the other resistance members were captured.

Character Developments

  • You He undergoes a major ideological crisis. His understanding of history, government, and identity is overturned as he learns that the T’au version of Sweet Star’s past may be fabricated.
  • He becomes increasingly desperate for answers, questioning why he has never heard of the Imperium, the God-Emperor, Gothic, or the Imperial Truth.
  • The boatman’s grandfather is established as a former Imperial PDF officer and resistance member. His memories reveal grief, bitterness, and enduring loyalty to the Imperium.
  • The grandfather’s account also shows that he has spent decades carrying the trauma of defeat and the loss of his homeland’s original culture.

Significant Themes

  • Historical revisionism and propaganda: The T’au have erased Imperial history, language, religion, and identity, replacing them with a narrative portraying themselves as liberators.
  • Cultural erasure: Gothic, Imperial education, and knowledge of the God-Emperor have disappeared over four generations, demonstrating how quickly a conquered society can be reshaped.
  • Colonial control through infiltration: Rather than conquering Sweet Star through open warfare, the T’au assassinated officials, installed puppets, weakened the military, and gradually normalized their rule.
  • Memory versus official history: The grandfather’s firsthand testimony conflicts sharply with You He’s education, forcing him to question which version of the past is true.
  • Defeat and resistance: The chapter emphasizes how military defeat, betrayal, and political fragmentation can destroy organized resistance, while still leaving behind individuals committed to restoring the old order.
  • Generational disconnection: You He belongs to a generation that has completely absorbed T’au culture, while the grandfather remembers the world before the conquest.

Character Interactions

  • You He repeatedly questions the grandfather, seeking clarification about the Imperium, the T’au, and Sweet Star’s past.
  • The grandfather answers with a mixture of suspicion, sorrow, and urgency, particularly after noticing You He’s T’au clothing and realizing that several generations have grown up without Imperial knowledge.
  • Their conversation becomes an informal transfer of forbidden history: the grandfather acts as a witness to the old world, while You He becomes the first person in his generation to confront the possibility that his society’s entire historical narrative is false.
  • The grandfather’s description of the old man’s characteristic sigh deeply affects You He, reminding him of the mysterious old man who died earlier and suggesting a possible connection between their experiences.

Ch. 95160 Years 4

Chapter Summary

Key Plot Points and Events

  • Grandpa Boatman reveals to You He the hidden history of Sweet Star: after the T’au occupation, more than fifty million members of the human resistance were rounded up and massacred in concentration camps.
  • You He is horrified and vehemently rejects the account, insisting that the T’au follow the Greater Good and are humanity’s benevolent allies. His faith in the official history begins to collapse.
  • Grandpa Boatman asks whether You He killed the Imperial commissar who had resisted in the mountains for sixty years.
  • You He realizes that the “terrorists” he and his comrades fought in Thunderstorm Forest were actually elderly Imperial soldiers who had maintained the resistance for decades.
  • During that battle, You He removed his helmet and revealed his human face. The commissar, who had believed he was fighting T’au, recognized that he had been fighting another human. His expression of shock and sorrow now becomes clear to You He.
  • Overwhelmed, You He accuses Grandpa Boatman of lying and threatens to arrest him for supporting terrorists.
  • The boatman intervenes to protect his grandfather, but Grandpa Boatman calmly accepts the possibility of arrest and tells You He that the blame belongs to the older generation, not to those indoctrinated under the occupation.
  • The chapter ends with You He emotionally devastated, as the old man’s compassion makes him confront the possibility that his entire worldview was built on lies.

Character Developments

  • You He: Experiences a profound ideological crisis. His loyalty to the T’au and belief in the official educational narrative are shaken by the revelation of the massacres and the true identity of the resistance fighters. His realization that he may have killed loyal human soldiers produces guilt, confusion, and fear.
  • Grandpa Boatman: Acts as a witness to the suppressed history and patiently exposes the moral reality of the occupation. Despite You He’s anger, he shows compassion and refuses to blame the younger generation for the failures of their ancestors.
  • The Boatman: Demonstrates fear and loyalty by trying to shield his grandfather from You He’s possible retaliation. His reaction also shows how dangerous it is to speak openly about the past.
  • The Imperial Commissar: Though already dead, his sixty-year resistance and final expression of pain become central to You He’s emotional transformation.

Significant Themes

  • Historical revisionism and propaganda: The official T’au education system has erased the invasion, resistance, and massacre, replacing them with a narrative of benevolent liberation.
  • Indoctrination versus truth: You He initially cannot accept evidence that contradicts everything he has been taught.
  • The cost of occupation: The chapter emphasizes that technological progress and improved living conditions do not erase the violence or coercion of conquest.
  • Inherited guilt and responsibility: Grandpa Boatman insists that the younger generation should not bear responsibility for the older generation’s military failure, even though You He has unknowingly participated in the oppression of his own people.
  • Loyalty and sacrifice: The commissar and his soldiers continued fighting for sixty years, believing their resistance preserved the possibility of Imperial recovery.
  • Compassion amid ideological conflict: Grandpa Boatman responds to You He’s rage with forgiveness, making the truth more difficult for You He to dismiss.

Character Interactions

  • Grandpa Boatman confronts You He with the hidden history of the T’au occupation and questions him about the commissar’s death.
  • You He reacts with denial, anger, and threats, revealing how completely he has internalized the occupiers’ ideology.
  • The boatman attempts to de-escalate the confrontation and protect his grandfather.
  • Grandpa Boatman’s calm acceptance of arrest and refusal to condemn You He disarms his anger, leaving him shaken and emotionally crushed.

Ch. 95260 Years 5

Chapter Summary

Key Plot Points and Events

  • You He struggles to accept the old man’s revelation that the T’au are descendants of humanity’s conquerors and that their rule is based on historical oppression rather than benevolence.
  • He instinctively defends the Greater Good, citing its prosperity, medicine, education, food, and comfortable living conditions. His emotional reaction reflects how deeply T’au propaganda has shaped him.
  • The old man, formerly an officer from the pre-T’au era, calmly explains that You He cannot be blamed for his beliefs because he was raised under Xenos education. He gives You He a rusty shovel and a Bolt Pistol inscribed with “For the God-Emperor,” urging him to investigate the truth for himself.
  • You He travels by speedboat with the nervous boatman to a restricted nature reserve. He enters the forest alone and discovers the hidden camp of the resistance fighters he previously classified as terrorists.
  • Near a tree carved with an image of the God-Emperor, You He spends half a day digging. He uncovers more than a hundred pieces of preserved polymer clothing, including adults’ garments, children’s clothes, and infant wrappings.
  • He realizes the nature reserve is actually a mass grave. Forty years earlier, the T’au massacred approximately fifty million human resistance fighters there and concealed the bodies beneath the soil.
  • You He understands the true meaning behind Commander Fireburst’s earlier dismissal of his unit’s disastrous casualty ratio. The T’au deliberately used loyal human descendants to destroy the last human resisters, making the event a particularly cruel form of historical manipulation.
  • As You He collapses in despair, three laser sights appear on his chest. Three enormous, hidden figures emerge, bearing Imperial weapons and the golden Aquila, ending the chapter on a cliffhanger.

Character Developments

  • You He: His faith in the Greater Good collapses completely. He moves from defensive denial to personal investigation, then to horror and grief after uncovering evidence of the massacre. He begins to recognize himself as an instrument of the regime he once trusted.
  • The old man: He is revealed as a knowledgeable former officer and guardian of suppressed history. Rather than condemning You He, he patiently guides him toward discovering the truth independently.
  • The boatman: He becomes frightened and regretful after realizing the old man’s importance and fearing that his family may be endangered because of the meeting. His nervousness highlights the authoritarian danger surrounding forbidden history.
  • Commander Fireburst: Though absent, he is reinterpreted by You He as calculating and cruel. His earlier claim that the casualties were “not important” is revealed to have concealed the strategic and ideological significance of the massacre.

Significant Themes

  • Propaganda and manufactured history: The T’au’s prosperity and education have hidden the reality of conquest, genocide, and cultural suppression.
  • Truth through direct evidence: The old man does not merely argue with You He; he sends him to uncover physical proof, allowing the truth to overcome indoctrination.
  • Inherited guilt and betrayal: You He is horrified that he unknowingly helped oppress his own people and kill the descendants of those who resisted.
  • Comfort versus freedom: Material prosperity under the Greater Good is contrasted with the loss of historical truth, autonomy, and identity.
  • The persistence of memory: The buried clothing and the God-Emperor’s statue symbolize a past the T’au tried to erase but could not completely destroy.
  • Moral awakening: You He’s collapse marks the beginning of a painful transformation from loyal servant of the regime to someone forced to confront its crimes.

Character Interactions

  • You He argues emotionally with the old man, defending the T’au’s rule and challenging the value of the Imperium.
  • The old man responds with patience rather than anger, repeatedly assuring You He that he is not to blame for what he was taught.
  • He entrusts You He with the Bolt Pistol and shovel, turning their conversation into a test of personal discovery.
  • The boatman acts as a fearful intermediary between the two, obeying the old man while worrying that the encounter will endanger his family.
  • You He mentally confronts Commander Fireburst after discovering the mass grave, accusing his former mentor of engineering a cruel victory in which humans were used to eliminate other humans.
  • The appearance of the Aquila-bearing figures introduces a possible connection between You He and the surviving Imperial resistance.

Ch. 953The Imperium Has Returned

Chapter Summary: “The Imperium Has Returned”

Key Plot Points and Events

  • You He reveals that he had suspected someone was manipulating events ever since a mysterious Bolt Round appeared at his feet in Peace Square and fit a Bolt Pistol. Instead of reporting it, he secretly followed the clues to the old site.
  • There, three enormous warriors—Genpei, Yamashita Maru, and Little Andrew—reveal themselves as servants of the God-Emperor and the vanguard of the returning Imperium.
  • They explain that dozens of Imperial warships are preparing in the asteroid belt before advancing on Sweet Star. Their mission is to determine whether the planet can still be saved or whether it must be destroyed.
  • The assessment is deemed disastrous: almost all loyal Imperial citizens were killed forty years earlier, while the surviving population has been absorbed into the T'au system. Nearly twenty million humans serve in the planet’s armed forces, and more than 1.2 billion people live under the T'au government.
  • Because the population would likely fight alongside the T'au against the returning Imperial fleet, the Imperium may classify Sweet Star as irredeemable and destroy it with extermination weapons, killing everyone on the planet.
  • You He protests, horrified that the Imperium would sacrifice 1.2 billion people. The warriors insist that the inhabitants are human traitors who support an enemy civilization.
  • They explain that the T'au conquered the planet through centuries of “soft colonization,” gradually corrupting its population rather than relying solely on open military conquest.
  • The warriors remove their helmets and reveal that they are human. Genpei then explains that the vanguard had hoped to find an Imperial resistance movement that could help reclaim the planet and reform its people over several decades.
  • However, the last loyal armed force on Sweet Star was destroyed by the army commanded by You He himself. You He realizes that he may have personally eliminated the planet’s final chance of survival.

Character Developments

  • You He: Moves from cautious curiosity to shock, panic, and profound guilt. He had believed he was serving and protecting his society, but now learns that he has been serving the T'au and may have destroyed the last Imperial resistance.
  • Genpei, Yamashita Maru, and Little Andrew: Initially appear as mysterious, intimidating giants, but are revealed to be human Imperial agents. They act as both messengers and judges, presenting the Imperium’s ruthless logic while offering a conditional alternative if loyal resistance remains.
  • The old man: His earlier warning that You He should not blame him gains new meaning. He had understood that the generation after him would eventually suffer the consequences of losing the planet to the T'au.

Significant Themes

  • Cultural indoctrination and identity: You He considers the T'au familiar and benevolent because they raised him, while the Imperium—which claims humanity’s historical ownership of the planet—appears alien and monstrous.
  • The cost of conquest and reclamation: The Imperium views the planet in terms of territory, loyalty, and military utility, making mass extermination an acceptable strategic solution.
  • Inherited guilt and historical consequences: Past generations’ failure to defend the planet has created a crisis that now falls upon You He’s generation.
  • Moral ambiguity: The chapter challenges whether people raised under an occupying power should be treated as willing traitors, especially when they never knew the Imperium existed.
  • Individual responsibility versus systemic forces: You He must confront the possibility that his personal military actions helped doom an entire world, even though he acted according to the beliefs imposed on him.

Character Interactions

  • You He kneels before the three warriors and demands to know their identity and purpose.
  • The warriors take turns explaining the Imperium’s return, the planet’s corruption, and the reasoning behind possible extermination.
  • You He argues emotionally that the population cannot simply be killed, while Little Andrew insists that their cooperation with the T'au makes them traitors.
  • Little Andrew uses the old man’s warning to force You He to reconsider his upbringing and the temporary nature of the T'au-controlled society.
  • Genpei ultimately gives You He the most devastating revelation: the possibility of saving Sweet Star depended on a resistance force that You He’s own army destroyed.

Ch. 954Winning Him Over

Chapter Summary: “Winning Him Over”

Key Plot Points and Events

  • Genpei reveals to You He that the Imperium has discovered Sweet Star’s condition and is deciding whether to spare or destroy it. The current Inquisitor is described as unusually compassionate and powerful; his judgment will determine the planet’s fate.
  • Genpei explains that the Imperium deliberately tested You He by leaving a Bolt Pistol and Bolt Round for him to find. His attraction to the weapons and the Aquila convinced them that, despite being raised by the T’au, he still possesses a connection to humanity and Imperial culture.
  • Because You He is now chief of planetary computer defense, the Imperium wants him to insert a USB device into the Planetary Computer. Doing so would disable the T’au’s automated factories, weapons, and planetary defenses, making Sweet Star easy to reclaim.
  • The Imperials pressure him by claiming that refusal will lead to a harsher invasion. If the compassionate Inquisitor cannot conquer the planet, more ruthless Imperial forces may arrive and exterminate all twelve billion inhabitants.
  • Yamashita Maru emphasizes that the Imperial fleet is already approaching, leaving You He with little opportunity to alter events even if he warns the T’au.
  • Little Andrew then reveals that he is from Water Blue Star, another human world colonized by the T’au. His father previously cooperated with the Imperium by sabotaging the Planetary Computer, allowing the Imperium to retake the planet.
  • Andrew’s account reassures You He that the Imperium may preserve much of Sweet Star’s existing society and way of life, though the T’au are eliminated, rebellious humans are executed, and Imperial religion and education are restored.

Character Developments

  • You He is pushed into an agonizing moral crisis. He is torn between loyalty to the T’au society that raised him and the threat of planetary annihilation. The USB becomes a physical symbol of the enormous responsibility placed upon him.
  • His belief that he may still be fundamentally connected to humanity is exploited by Genpei and the others. He begins to consider whether returning to the Imperium might preserve his people’s lives and familiar way of life.
  • Genpei presents himself as calm and compassionate while carefully manipulating You He through fear, appeals to blood and identity, and promises of mercy.
  • Yamashita Maru takes a harsher approach, stressing that the Imperial advance is inevitable and that You He will bear responsibility for any resulting deaths.
  • Little Andrew becomes the most persuasive figure. As another human raised under T’au influence, he serves as living evidence that cooperation with the Imperium may be survivable. His personal history directly addresses You He’s fears.

Significant Themes

  • Identity and cultural allegiance: The chapter questions whether biology, upbringing, or political loyalty determines who someone truly belongs to.
  • Coercion disguised as choice: You He is technically offered a decision, but the approaching fleet and threat of extermination make refusal nearly impossible.
  • Colonialism and assimilation: Both the T’au and Imperium are portrayed as imperial powers that reshape or control other societies. The Imperium frames its conquest as liberation while demanding submission, religious restoration, and the destruction of T’au influence.
  • Pragmatism versus morality: The Imperials justify collaboration and selective preservation as the least destructive option, even though it requires betrayal and mass killing.
  • Propaganda and persuasion: Genpei, Yamashita Maru, and Andrew each use different methods—reason, intimidation, and personal testimony—to win You He over.
  • “Sugar-coated cannonballs”: The Inquisitor’s metaphor suggests that cultural and economic influence can be as invasive as military force, while also expressing the Imperium’s strategy of preserving useful aspects of conquered societies rather than destroying everything indiscriminately.

Character Interactions

  • Genpei confronts You He with the planet’s desperate situation and explains why the Imperium believes he can be trusted.
  • You He challenges Genpei, questioning why he should aid people he has never known and whether the Imperials truly believe he will betray the T’au.
  • Yamashita Maru undermines You He’s hope of resisting by revealing that the fleet is already en route and that the larger conflict is unavoidable.
  • Little Andrew gains You He’s attention by speaking flawless T’au and revealing their shared experience of being human subjects of T’au colonization. His story provides the emotional reassurance that Genpei’s threats and arguments cannot.

Ch. 955Wartime Protocol

Chapter Summary: “Wartime Protocol”

Key Plot Points and Events

  • You He leaves the forest carrying the USB drive Little Andrew gave him. The three human operatives question whether he will betray the T’au, who raised him, in favor of the Imperium, which he has only recently encountered.
  • Little Andrew explains that the Inquisitor’s plans are already underway, meaning You He’s choice may no longer matter. Genpei believes You He’s human nature will ultimately lead him to cooperate with the Imperium.
  • The operatives begin their next mission: infiltrating the Hive City and assassinating key T’au officials. Their goal mirrors the T’au’s earlier seizure of human rule through the assassination of human leaders.
  • Using a highly advanced stealth shuttle, the group travels toward the planetary core. They plan to assassinate three of the Four Council representatives:
    • Little Andrew will target Shui Rou.
    • Yamashita Maru will target Leitu.
    • Genpei will target Fengxi.
  • They exclude Fireburst, the T’au military representative, because he is heavily protected within an army of hundreds of thousands of soldiers. Fireburst has secretly gathered 150,000 elite T’au near the space elevator, intending to evacuate them into orbit once the Inquisitor attacks.
  • Meanwhile, the T’au discover that a massive human super-battleship is approaching Sweet Star and will arrive in two days. Panic spreads among the six million T’au living in the Hive City’s upper districts.
  • The Four Council representatives hold an emergency meeting. Fengxi blames Shui Rou for approving the decision to hand a Protector-class Battleship to the humans.
  • Shui Rou cannot understand the betrayal, since the planetary computer had judged the Inquisitor’s expressions and writings as sincere signs of support for the Greater Good.
  • Fireburst reveals that the Inquisitor has already attacked: he destroyed twenty stealth suits, killed more than five hundred infantrymen with his bare hands, opened a teleportation gate, and sent radiation soldiers into the Spire to contaminate T’au-controlled areas.

Character Developments

  • You He is placed at a moral crossroads between his T’au upbringing and his human heritage. His final decision remains uncertain.
  • Little Andrew demonstrates strategic confidence and emotional detachment, trusting that the Inquisitor’s broader plan will succeed regardless of You He’s actions. He also takes command of the assassination operation.
  • Genpei expresses faith in biological and cultural identity, believing You He’s human blood will eventually determine his allegiance.
  • Yamashita Maru remains skeptical about You He’s loyalty and recognizes the difficulty of predicting his choice.
  • Fireburst is shown to be the most perceptive and prepared T’au leader. Unlike the others, he never trusted the peace negotiations and has already created an evacuation plan.
  • Shui Rou shifts from confidence in the Inquisitor’s supposed support to confusion and near-hysteria when the attack begins.
  • Fengxi becomes furious and openly accusatory, blaming Shui Rou for the disastrous diplomatic decision.

Significant Themes

  • Conflicted identity and loyalty: You He’s situation raises the question of whether upbringing, blood, or recent experience determines allegiance.
  • Betrayal and deception: The Imperium’s apparent peace negotiations were a calculated trap, while the T’au misread the Inquisitor’s behavior and trusted misleading evidence.
  • Political hypocrisy and fear: The T’au publicly promote the Greater Good but privately panic over the consequences of their rule and past actions.
  • Reversal of oppression: The Imperium’s assassination campaign deliberately mirrors the T’au’s earlier overthrow of human government.
  • Preparedness versus complacency: Fireburst’s vigilance contrasts with the other council members’ confusion and infighting.
  • War as manipulation: Both sides use stealth, intelligence, assassination, infiltration, and psychological pressure rather than relying solely on open battle.

Character Interactions

  • The three operatives debate You He’s likely allegiance before moving on to their mission.
  • Little Andrew assigns the assassination targets and explains why Fireburst cannot be attacked directly.
  • During the emergency council meeting, Fengxi angrily condemns Shui Rou for giving the humans a battleship.
  • Shui Rou insists the Inquisitor must have been sincere and considers confronting him personally.
  • Fireburst interrupts her optimism with a grim account of the Inquisitor’s violent assault, making clear that the supposed peace mission has become an invasion.

Ch. 956Assassination

Flameburst Commander seized wartime control and ordered the evacuation as the Inquisitor's forces attacked the T'au. Cloaked assassins killed Shui Rou, Leitu, and Commander Fengxi, while the T'au evacuation and its research were devastated.

  • Flameburst Commander showed the council the radiation attack, won approval for wartime command, and ordered the evacuation of 150,000 elites and the transfer of research and the Planetary Computer.
  • Shui Rou mourned her belief that the Inquisitor had respected the Greater Good, then Genpei killed her with a Power Sword.
  • Leitu boarded a Shuttle with more than a hundred scientists and research data, but Yamashita Maru's Eldar Nuclear Grenade destroyed the Shuttle and everyone aboard.
  • Commander Fengxi rode the Space Elevator toward his warship, but Little Andrew shot and killed him with a sniper rifle.

Ch. 957Unleashing his power

Li Qinwu suddenly attacked the Space Elevator to prevent the T'au leaders from escaping before his warships arrived. As T'au Stealth Battlesuits moved to capture him, he used his psychic sight and Lightning Swords to kill two of their pilots.

  • Li Qinwu entered the T'au-ruled Upper Court after Shui Rou agreed to let him visit.
  • Li Qinwu spotted the Space Elevator and rushed toward it to block the T'au's escape route.
  • The Flameburst Commander ordered XV25 Stealthsuits to capture Li Qinwu alive.
  • Li Qinwu detected the approaching suits with psychic sight and struck two of them with Lightning Bolts, killing their pilots.

Ch. 958Unleashing His Might 2

Chapter Summary: Unleashing His Might 2

Key Plot Points and Events

  • Li Qinwu destroys two XV25 Battlesuits with precise Lightning Swords, piercing their weak stealth-oriented armor and killing their pilots.
  • The surviving T’au pilots panic after realizing he is a Psyker. Rather than attempting to capture him, they open fire with their Burst Cannons.
  • Li Qinwu protects himself with a Psychic Shield, which causes incoming energy rounds to detonate harmlessly before reaching him.
  • Using Warp Black Cloud and a mirage technique taught by the Silent One, he conceals both his physical appearance and Warp presence. The T’au cannot detect him through visual, thermal, or multispectral scanners.
  • From within the mirage, Li Qinwu repeatedly fires Lightning Bolts at the XV25 Battlesuits. The attacks destroy the suits and frequently cause their reactors to explode.
  • The battlesuit explosions devastate the T’au’s Spire district, killing and injuring civilians and sending the population into panic.
  • The remaining XV25 pilots attempt to escape by dropping to street level and fleeing through the city.
  • Li Qinwu pursues them. He destroys two more suits with Lightning Swords in midair, then personally kills fleeing pilots by landing on their battlesuits and crushing their heads with Psychic Power-enhanced punches.
  • By the end of the chapter, Li Qinwu has effectively annihilated the XV25 force.

Character Developments

  • Li Qinwu demonstrates rapidly expanding mastery over Psychic Power. He combines offensive abilities, defensive shielding, invisibility, Warp concealment, mirage creation, Lightning Swords, and Gravity Control with increasing confidence.
  • He shifts from long-range attacks to brutal close combat, showing both tactical flexibility and overwhelming physical dominance.
  • The T’au pilots evolve from an organized attack force into a terrified and disorganized group. Their fear of Psykers causes them to abandon their original objective and eventually flee.
  • The Silent One’s influence is evident through the concealment technique Li Qinwu uses, suggesting that his training is making him significantly more dangerous.

Significant Themes

  • Fear of the unknown: The T’au’s lack of understanding and experience with Psychic Power turns Li Qinwu’s appearance into a psychological catastrophe.
  • The dangers of ignorance: The chapter emphasizes the T’au’s inadequate management of Psykers, contrasting their technological sophistication with their inability to counter supernatural threats.
  • Overwhelming power and helplessness: Once concealed, Li Qinwu becomes nearly impossible to target, leaving the battlesuit pilots unable to resist or escape.
  • Collateral destruction: Although Li Qinwu targets the battlesuits, their reactor explosions devastate civilian areas, highlighting the destructive consequences of the confrontation.
  • Technology versus Psychic Power: Advanced scanners, armor, and weapons prove ineffective against Li Qinwu’s Warp-based abilities.

Character Interactions

  • The XV25 pilots communicate in panic after identifying Li Qinwu as a Psyker, revealing their deep fear and lack of confidence.
  • Their weapons repeatedly clash with Li Qinwu’s Psychic Shield and concealment abilities, turning their coordinated attack into futile bombardment.
  • Li Qinwu directly confronts fleeing pilots, physically overpowering their battlesuits and killing them at close range.
  • The chapter’s central interaction is therefore one-sided: the T’au rely on technology and numbers, while Li Qinwu uses Psychic Power, deception, and superior strength to dominate them.

Ch. 959Unleashing his might 3

Li Qinwu stopped an XV25 Battlesuit pilot’s attempt to kill them both with a nuclear explosion, then redirected the detonation into a crowded T'au residential building. After surviving the blast, he flew toward the Space Elevator and attacked the T'au forces guarding it.

  • The Flameburst Commander remotely activated the XV25 Battlesuit’s self-destruct sequence and ordered its pilot to charge Li Qinwu.
  • Li Qinwu used Gravity Control to immobilize and crush the XV25 Battlesuit, then hurled it into a building housing nearly 150,000 T'au.
  • The Battlesuit’s reactor exploded, destroying the building and causing widespread devastation in the Spire district while Li Qinwu sheltered behind another building.
  • Li Qinwu flew toward the Space Elevator, where more than a hundred T'au infantry fired Rail Rifles at him.
  • Li Qinwu scattered Psychic Blasts into the T'au forces, killing many and blasting others away.

Ch. 960Radiation Sappers

Chapter Summary: “Radiation Sappers”

Key Plot Points and Events

  • Li Qinwu attacks the T’au Space Elevator’s cargo terminal, where hundreds of Fire Warriors and tens of thousands of civilians are gathered.
  • After blasting through the terminal’s reinforced glass, he withstands a massive Pulse Rifle barrage with a Psychic Shield.
  • He retaliates with two enormous Psychic Blasts, killing nearly a thousand T’au soldiers and civilians and throwing the terminal into panic.
  • Li Qinwu opens a Portal and summons one hundred specialized Skitarii Radiation Sappers, equipped with reactor-like radiation guns and nuclear fuel tanks.
  • He orders them to transform the Space Elevator and the surrounding T’au Spire into lethal Radiation Zones, preventing the T’au from using the elevator to evacuate before his battleship arrives in two days.
  • After giving his orders, Li Qinwu uses Soul Projection to separate his soul from his body, deliberately triggering the system’s resurrection process. His body disappears, allowing him to return safely while avoiding pain.
  • The Radiation Sappers surround the terminal and repeatedly activate their weapons. Radiation levels rise to thousands of times normal, destroying electronic systems and fatally damaging the cells of the trapped civilians.
  • Within minutes, the Space Elevator becomes unusable—a Radiation Deadland.
  • A fifty-thousand-strong T’au rapid-response force arrives, including many battlesuits, intending to retake the facility. However, their commander detects the extreme radiation and orders everyone to retreat.

Character Developments

  • Li Qinwu demonstrates a dramatic increase in Psychic Power after his enhancement in the Crone World. His attacks are powerful enough to destroy large groups instantly.
  • He shows greater strategic thinking by targeting the Space Elevator rather than merely fighting its defenders. By disabling the T’au’s main evacuation route, he traps their elite forces on the planet.
  • Li Qinwu also reveals a new, painless method of exploiting his resurrection ability: using Soul Projection to sever his connection to his body and trigger a controlled “death.”
  • The Radiation Sappers are introduced as heavily modified Skitarii specialized in deploying devastating radiation weapons.
  • The T’au commander proves cautious and perceptive, recognizing the radiation threat before sacrificing his troops by sending them into the terminal.

Significant Themes

  • Strategic warfare and infrastructure destruction: Li Qinwu attacks a vital transportation system to undermine the T’au’s broader ability to escape or organize resistance.
  • Weaponized science and mass death: Radiation is presented as a slow, invisible form of destruction that kills civilians and disables technology as effectively as conventional weapons.
  • Psychological terror: The sudden destruction of the terminal and the transformation of a safe evacuation point into a death zone create panic among both civilians and soldiers.
  • Exploitation of supernatural abilities: Li Qinwu combines psychic power, portals, and resurrection mechanics to conduct an attack with minimal personal risk.
  • Moral brutality and total warfare: His orders explicitly include killing every T’au in the Spire, emphasizing the increasingly genocidal nature of the conflict.

Character Interactions

  • A T’au officer orders the Fire Warriors to concentrate their fire on Li Qinwu, but the attack fails against his Psychic Shield.
  • Li Qinwu responds by annihilating the frontline forces and civilians in the terminal.
  • He communicates directly with the Radiation Sappers’ captain, ordering the destruction of the Space Elevator and nearby civilian districts.
  • The Sapper captain follows those orders, deploying his troops around the terminal and turning it into a lethal quarantine zone.
  • When the T’au rapid-response army arrives, its commander observes the radiation through his command helmet and overrides the plan to attack, ordering an immediate withdrawal.

Ch. 961A fight to the bitter end

The T'au forces were driven back by the Radiation Sappers as Flameburst Commander ordered a planetary last stand and arranged an evacuation. After an armored convoy carrying a decoy was destroyed by Yamashita Maru, Flameburst Commander headed for the Planetary Computer alone in a civilian car.

  • The Radiation Sappers expanded the Radiation Zone, forcing T'au troops to retreat, and their radiation destroyed hundreds of drones.
  • Flameburst Commander declared a planetary last-stand posture and ordered the T'au armed forces, auxiliaries, and militia to fight the invaders to the death.
  • Flameburst Commander gave the warships one day to evacuate as many elites as possible, then ordered the Planetary Computer's combat AI caching protocol and evacuation.
  • Flameburst Commander sent an elite guard wearing his battlesuit with an armored convoy toward the Planetary Computer facility.
  • Yamashita Maru destroyed the convoy with five Nuclear Grenades, while Flameburst Commander escaped in civilian clothes.
  • Flameburst Commander unlocked a T'au civilian's car and drove toward the Planetary Computer facility.
