A Letter

The first ray of sunlight streamed through the window. Annie, awakened by her internal clock, opened her eyes and got out of bed.

Aura was still sprawled on the bed, sleeping soundly. Shalltear sat near the edge of the room, playing a computer game to vent the frustration in her heart. Annie glanced around, picked up the thermos on the table, and poured herself a cup of warm water.

"You're awake, Annie."

Hearing the movement, Shalltear turned to look at her.

She had been playing this game since last night, but even after an entire night, her mood had not improved much.

"Mm. You didn't sleep all night?"

Annie took a sip from her cup, sat down in a chair, and casually asked.

"I am a vampire. Under normal circumstances, I don't need sleep."

After controlling her game character to tear an enemy into eight pieces, Shalltear let out a long breath.

"Is that so? Then..."

A series of knocks sounded from outside the door. Annie froze for a moment before getting up to answer it. Aura, who was lying on the bed, was also awakened by the noise. After stretching energetically, she got out of bed while muttering about who could be knocking.

"Looks like I'm not late." Natasha looked into the room while carrying a bag of breakfast, then handed it to Annie.

"No, your timing is perfect." Hearing Aura's lively voice, Annie could not help smiling. Even her stifled mood improved considerably.

"How do you plan to search today? When are you leaving? I'll make the arrangements right away." Natasha shifted to business.

"There's no need. I want to take a look myself today." Annie paused, then shook her head.
