Perhaps with this world's technological advantage, he could build a vast fortune in the Marvel Universe, but the facts portrayed in the films from his previous life had already proven that without enough backing and means, no matter how great the benefits were, they would only be a juicy piece of meat in someone else's eyes.
For example, the various capital tycoons, or a certain Hydra and a certain Hydra branch within S.H.I.E.L.D.!
"Fuck, this is a death flag!"
Ryan felt a headache coming on. He still had not figured out how to quickly increase the Influence Value in that half-broken system, and using it to search for another world again would take nearly ten years.
He had thought that, no matter what, the half-broken system would send him to a world suitable for his growth. Could he have been wrong? Had this half-broken system really not secretly manipulated his search results?
But that should not have been the case! If there was no shady business involved, why had he transmigrated directly into someone else's home and happened to run into the owner returning?
Could there be something here he had overlooked? Or perhaps this young man named Suzuki Satoru did not know the true nature of this world?
That was somewhat possible. Although he had always thought settings where people possessed absurdly high personal combat power, fought all the time, claimed to belong to the underworld, and yet ordinary people knew absolutely nothing about it were incredibly stupid, perhaps such things really did exist. After all, if there was some powerful figure or object capable of manipulating all humanity's memories to a certain extent, anything was possible!
While Ryan's imagination was running wild, he spotted an object resembling a space capsule in the corner of the living room and instinctively asked Suzuki Satoru, "What is that?"
He had wanted to ask about it earlier, but gathering information had been more important then. Now that he had more or less finished his information search, he could no longer suppress his curiosity. Judging from the technological background, that thing was very likely what he thought it was.
"It's a game pod for the game YGGDRASIL. You can lie inside and enter a virtual game world, but..." Suzuki Satoru cautiously pointed toward Ryan's back and asked with some concern, "Will that spatial passage of yours stay open?"
He had a terrible headache. Although no one usually visited his home even once a year, if this spatial passage remained there, it would greatly disrupt his life. What unsettled him even more was that if an alien force truly planned to invade Earth, would his home not become the first battlefield?
"Spatial passage?"
Ryan turned around in surprise.
Sure enough, there was a pitch-black semicircular hole behind him. It should have been this hole that connected this world to the Marvel Universe. However, it seemed that he could control this passage?
Following his instincts, he imagined the semicircular passage becoming square. The spatial passage standing in Suzuki Satoru's living room actually changed according to his will.
"Interesting!"
A gleam flashed through Ryan's eyes. His vision had been obstructed earlier because he was wearing a gas mask, so he had not seen the spatial passage behind him. But it was not too late. After experimenting several times and confirming the extent of his control over the passage, he closed it with a thought.
Now he understood why Suzuki Satoru had said earlier that this place was Earth. He had seen the spatial passage and mistaken Ryan for an alien!
"Did you close it?"
Suzuki Satoru asked nervously.
Though he was afraid, when he considered the consequences of the spatial passage remaining open, he still gathered his courage and asked.
"Yeah, I closed it. You said that was a game pod for a game called YGGDRASIL, right?"
"Uh, yes." Suzuki Satoru nodded, unable to understand why this alien was interested in a game.
"Then what is your name in the game?"
Ryan's eyes beneath the gas mask were tinged with nervousness. The familiar name and familiar social setting reminded him of a very famous anime from his previous life,
If his guess was correct, then he had truly struck it rich this time! "Momonga."
The short answer made Ryan's eyes widen.
It really was him!!!
If nothing unexpected happened, the man before him was Ainz Ooal Gown, known by countless titles such as the one who outwitted the air, Bone King, and "I've Already Castrated Myself"!
Ryan had always followed his philosophy of lying low. If the timing had not been so inappropriate, he would have wanted to pull out a notebook, ask for an autograph, and seek detailed guidance on the essence of the art of lying low!
"Ahem." After coughing and suppressing his excitement at meeting an idol, he calmly asked, "How many years has this game been running?"
If he remembered correctly, Ainz Ooal Gown had transmigrated to another world along with his max-level fortress in the twelfth year of the game's operation. From Momonga's answer, Ryan could determine how much time he had to prepare.
"A little over two years, I think. The second-anniversary event just ended a few days ago." Suzuki Satoru thought for a moment before answering. Although he could not understand Ryan's intentions, with a gun pointed at him, he could only answer honestly.
A little over two years?
Ryan's brows knitted tightly together.
Although there was enough time left to prepare, the span was far too long. It seemed it was time to have an honest discussion.
He lowered the gun that had been aimed at Suzuki Satoru and asked, seeing the surprise and faint relief in Suzuki Satoru's eyes, "What do you think I am?"
"Uh, an alien?" Suzuki Satoru answered uncertainly.
"No, I'm an Earthling too, just an Earthling from another universe," Ryan corrected him.
"Another universe!?" Suzuki Satoru's eyes widened in disbelief.
"Yes, another universe." Ryan nodded and explained, "Because of an accident, I suddenly gained this ability. This was my first attempt, and I never expected to end up in your home."
To demonstrate that he was telling the truth, Ryan summoned the spatial passage through the system again and moved it into several different positions.
"What do you want by telling me all this?"
Suzuki Satoru's throat was somewhat dry, and his heart pounded violently. He only felt that an unprecedented opportunity had appeared before him.
"Of course, cooperation. With the different resources of two worlds, we can become the richest people in our respective worlds. Think about it: luxury cars, beautiful women, villas. I imagine you also have ambitions of becoming someone at the top."
Ryan's voice was soft, but Suzuki Satoru felt as though flames were burning throughout his body.
He had once thought that this despairing world had worn away all his edges, but now the blazing fire in his heart told him that he still possessed the will to resist.
"Tell me, what do we do!" Suzuki Satoru asked, his eyes red.
"First, give me a tube of your blood. Then you need to prepare one of every vaccine for me. I don't want everything to go perfectly, only for us to die from some disease in the end!"
