"Ha ha ha..."
After hearing Nick's words, Ryan threw back his head and laughed, though inside, it felt as if ten thousand alpacas had trampled through his heart.
He had actually been labeled an alien for such a reason!
Theoretically, there was nothing wrong with it, but did Nick Fury have a screw loose?
He had decided Ryan was an alien based solely on that and made such a huge show of force. No normal person would actually believe it, would they?!
And what gave him the biggest headache was that he really didn't dare let Sebas go with Nick.
Sebas was a dragonkin. Once they examined him, they would instead confirm that he wasn't human. At that point, "trouble" would be far too mild a word for it!
His plan to steadily advance while acting as the mastermind behind the scenes was going to be exposed because of such a damned reason—and he had dug the pit himself.
If he had known Nick Fury's imagination was this wild, he would have had water in his brain before choosing a name like "Transporter," and he wouldn't have let Sebas show himself so recklessly.
But there was no use thinking about that now. The question was, what should he do?
The living room was already filled with surveillance equipment. Somewhere on Earth, there had to be a huge group of people spying through screens.
Even if he instantly slaughtered everyone present, the news would inevitably leak out. Perhaps in the very next second, intelligence that he was an alien would land on the desks of the top leaders of the five permanent members of the World Security Council.
That damned bald black bastard had really given him a massive problem!
The laughter finally stopped after a long while.
Seeing the utterly unchanging expressions on Nick and Coulson's faces, Ryan felt a pain in the ass.
Just moments ago, his passive skill, [Telepathy], had detected organized military forces rushing here from several kilometers away. With such a massive deployment, they clearly wouldn't rest until they had investigated everything thoroughly.
Any hope he had of muddling through was completely shattered.
Tch, what a pain!
"You really are impressive, Director Nick!"
"I never expected you to discover the identity I'd hidden for so long. I'm impressed!"
Ryan raised a thumb and went along with Nick's words, admitting it.
Since they had decided he was an alien, then he would be an alien.
After all, in a sense, he really could live up to that title.
What Ryan didn't know was just how wary Nick was of him, or how many people Nick had sent this speculation to.
An extraterrestrial force had infiltrated Earth for ten years. Nick had already elevated this operation to a threat capable of bringing about humanity's extinction!
Only by gathering the strength of every nation on Earth could they possibly resolve this crisis!
Uproar erupted across the world.
The instant Ryan admitted that he was an alien, every major figure from every country watching the live broadcast rose from their chairs without exception.
When Nick Fury had first provided them with this intelligence, they had thought his brain had short-circuited. The World Security Council had even believed Nick Fury was no longer fit to serve as director of S.H.I.E.L.D.
But now, should they say reality was often stranger than fiction?
An alien had openly run a company on Earth for ten years, developed it into a world-renowned enterprise, and they hadn't noticed a single thing.
In that brief instant, countless top-secret reports were delivered to the highest levels at rocket-like speed. The United States itself immediately entered Level Two alert, ready at all times for a possible war.
"You admit that you're from outer space?"
Nick's pupils contracted slightly as he asked.
"Yeah. You made such a huge commotion, cleared out my house, and mobilized the military. Even if I wanted to deny it now, I couldn't."
Ryan spread his hands helplessly.
His original plan had completely fallen apart. As for what he should do next, he hadn't fully figured it out yet.
But first, he needed to know exactly how many people were watching this live broadcast, and how many people knew about Nick's operation.
If this had been a secret operation and only a few people knew, he could use the magic [Memory Manipulation] to replace the memories of key personnel, then quickly expose Hydra and have the two destroy each other. Perhaps he could still brush this incident aside.
He secretly used [Message] magic to contact Pandora's Actor, telling him to immediately head to S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters and investigate the matter.
With Pandora's Actor's nearly omnipotent methods, it likely wouldn't take him long to obtain the answer Ryan wanted.
"You know the military is being mobilized outside?"
Nick's heart skipped a beat. He hadn't seen either of them make any movement to communicate with the outside, so was this some kind of communications technology beyond Earth's?
The signals in this area had already been completely controlled, yet the surveillance personnel had found no trace of any signals coming in or out. That level of technology was terrifying!
"Of course I know. You can hear tanks rolling down the road from several kilometers away. I just didn't think they were coming for me before."
Ryan said as he picked at his ear. Nick frowned after hearing that.
He had heard it with his ears?
It sounded fantastical, but based on his judgment, it instead seemed like the truth. Or rather, if Ryan had really heard it with his ears, that would actually be better.
No matter how powerful a body was, even one like the Hulk created by the military, it wasn't as if they had no way to deal with it.
But if the technological gap was too great, just think of what the United States had done to the Native Americans when it was founded. The final outcome wouldn't be much better than that!
"Fine, I'll assume you heard it with your ears. Now, let's return to the main subject."
"Where do you come from, what is your status on your planet, and what is your purpose in coming to Earth?"
Nick asked solemnly. Perhaps the answers wouldn't be true, but they could still reveal certain intelligence—and intelligence was exactly what Earth lacked right now.
Ryan and the others had been on Earth for ten years. It could be said that they had investigated nearly everything about Earth, while Earth knew almost nothing about Ryan's world. Their only source of intelligence came from analyzing those wildly popular works. They couldn't be sure how many errors or omissions there were, what era of that civilization those works came from, or even whether they were truly products of that civilization at all.
With the intelligence gap so enormous, any information was incomparably precious.
After all, in a sense, this was humanity's first encounter with an extraterrestrial civilization that could communicate. Though the situation was currently delicate, as long as there was even the slightest possibility, Earth wouldn't take the initiative to attack.
Time seemed to freeze at that moment. As Ryan pondered, Nick Fury waited, and so did the top leaders of the five permanent members. Ryan's next answer would greatly influence the situation of the entire world!
