Honest with Each Other

The ones who entered were two burly men. Though they were also dressed in suits and wore gleaming leather shoes, they carried the oppressive air of elite enforcers from the underworld.

"Fifth Master."

The moment they entered, both men fixed their eyes on Bai Jin, who was being held in Lu Chengze's arms and wore a terrified expression.

After looking Bai Jin over from head to toe, presumably assessing how dangerous he was and whether he might harm their Fifth Master, they withdrew their cold, scrutinizing gazes upon seeing how weak and harmless he looked.

Then, he naturally dragged Bai Jin toward the sofa, intending to pull him down to sit beside him, but Bai Jin took the chance to dodge away.

"I... I'm going to wash up..." With that, Bai Jin ran into the bedroom without looking back.

"Damn! Fifth Master, this kid's got some nerve!" The two burly men burst into laughter as they watched Bai Jin flee in panic.

"Watch your image. Don't scare him. He's still just a kid." There was a trace of amusement in Lu Chengze's eyes. "Lu Jin, did you find what I asked you to investigate?"

Lu Jin nodded and handed his phone to Lu Chengze, his expression difficult to describe. "We got the details, Fifth Master. Here, you should see it for yourself."

Lu Jin came back to his senses. "Fifth Master, you... aren't leaving with us? It isn't safe here."

But Lu Chengze had already reached the bedroom door and strode inside like a wolf closing in on its prey.

In the end, Lu Jin was dragged out by Lu Mu. "Come on. Haven't you noticed? Fifth Master has taken a liking to Bai Jin."

"But Bai Jin's such a weak little guy. What could Fifth Master possibly see in him..." Lu Jin muttered as he left.

Lu Chengze glanced over the bed. The covers had already been smoothed out, and Bai Jin was nowhere to be seen. A set of clothes lay at the foot of the bed, while the sound of running water came from the bathroom...
