Background

Naruto’s consciousness originates from Li Luo, a transmigrator who awakens as Naruto Uzumaki shortly after Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki die sealing the Nine-Tails into him. Rather than embracing the role of the original story’s protagonist, he resolves to avoid its loneliness, manipulation, and self-sacrificial fate. His main advantages are foreknowledge, Uzumaki blood, Asura chakra, and access to Kurama’s seal space. 4

Hiruzen initially arranges care for Naruto, but he is moved from Minato’s home into a war-orphan tenement once his memories begin forming and the truth of his jinchūriki status spreads. He survives on hard bread and instant ramen while villagers isolate and mistreat him. This experience shapes his enduring resentment toward Hiruzen and Konoha’s leadership. 5
