Background
Tang San grew up in Holy Soul Village as the son of Tang Hao. Jiang Lin initially tried to befriend him, but Tang San showed no interest; they became near-strangers. When Tang San later passed Jiang Lin being beaten by Alto’s group, he watched without intervening and left 1.
He attended the village’s Martial Soul Awakening ceremony and awakened Blue Silver Grass. Although Su Yuntao dismissed it as useless, Tang San tested at Innate Full Soul Power. Jiang Lin alone sensed that Tang San also possessed the concealed Clear Sky Hammer, but chose not to expose him 6.
Old Jack arranged for Tang San and Jiang Lin to enroll at Notting Academy. Tang San joined Yu Xiaogang as a disciple after the latter verified his certificate and recognized the likelihood that he had Twin Martial Souls 8 9.
Personality
Tang San is reserved, self-reliant, and accustomed to isolation. He does not seek Jiang Lin’s approval and initially treats him as a stranger despite traveling and enrolling with him 1 8.
He is fiercely protective of Yu Xiaogang’s reputation. Jiang Lin’s claim that Yu Xiaogang was too weak to teach him provoked Tang San into challenging Jiang Lin, even though he had not yet properly assessed the difference in their strength 9 10.
Despite being decisively defeated, Tang San remains proud and composed under pressure. With the King’s Power Sword at his throat, he refused to plead and attempted to reveal the Clear Sky Hammer as a final countermeasure. He later characterized the fight as a spar rather than admit defeat to Yu Xiaogang 10.

At the academy gate, Tang San preserved the damaged enrollment certificates and handed them to Yu Xiaogang, earning the latter’s approval. Yu Xiaogang subsequently accepted him as a disciple 9.
Conflict with Jiang Lin
Tang San challenged Jiang Lin over Yu Xiaogang’s honor. His techniques and concealed weapons failed to overcome the King’s Power Sword, and he resorted to revealing the Clear Sky Hammer only after Jiang Lin held a blade at his throat 10.
Dormitory Seven
Tang San arrived after Jiang Lin had defeated Xiao Wu and established control over Dormitory Seven. His attempts to assist Xiao Wu were rejected, altering the expected connection between them and intensifying his hostility toward Jiang Lin 11 12 16.
