Background
Qin Mu was born to Qin Wenyu and Weng Suying, whose marriage was a business arrangement tied to a fifteen-percent share exchange between the Qin and Weng families. Qin Wenyu’s infidelity and Weng Suying’s neglect left their son caught in a hostile family conflict. After discovering the affair, Weng Suying took Qin Mu away from the Qin residence and forced Qin Wenyu to undergo a vasectomy, permanently deepening the feud between his parents. 31
The breakdown of his parents’ marriage left Qin Mu withdrawn, suspicious, emotionally isolated, and lacking security. A psychologist identified him as a child affected by emotional deprivation following the divorce. Weng Suying subsequently spent more time with him, teaching him cooking and corporate-management principles while letting him rotate through departments of the Weng Group. 50 51
While still in college, Qin Mu founded the Qin Dynasty investment firm and earned substantial profits through stock-market investments. After Weng Suying’s death, he inherited the Weng Group and defeated the Qin Family main branch’s attempt to seize it through its shareholding and influence. 31 51
Old Master Qin recognizes Qin Mu as the Qin Family’s eldest legitimate grandson and first-in-line heir. This status, his control of the Weng Group, and his estrangement from the main branch make him a target of resentment among relatives such as Qin Mi and Second Madam Qin. 31 92 93
Appearance
Qin Mu is a tall, exceptionally handsome man whose restrained manner and sharply tailored dark suits give him an intimidating executive presence. His expression is usually unreadable, but his dark eyes and subtle physical reactions often reveal more emotion than his words do. 14 30 47
- Tall and elegant, with long legs and a lean, athletic build 47 72
- Dark, unfathomable eyes and clear whites of the eyes 47 63
- Jade-like fingers 2
- Commonly wears formal black or dark business attire 30 50
- Appears cold and unapproachable in public, but looks markedly softer while cooking or caring for Cheng Lang 51 64
Personality
Qin Mu is quiet, calculating, and difficult to provoke openly. He favors precise retaliation over direct displays of anger, as shown when he allowed the Qin Family main branch to take the compromised Lincheng project before forcing them to absorb its losses. His sparse speech can be cutting when his family, his mother, or Cheng Lang are targeted. 2 31 93
Behind his controlled public image, Qin Mu is intensely insecure about affection. His childhood neglect left him sensitive to rejection and prone to possessiveness, jealousy, and tests of Cheng Lang’s feelings. He openly admits to testing whether Cheng Lang notices and responds to his small schemes, but promises that he will not hurt him. 50 61 98
In private, he is attentive, clingy, and eager for reassurance. He expresses affection primarily through practical care: cooking, arranging transportation, preparing clothes, protecting Cheng Lang’s interests, and quietly making room for him in every part of his life. 51 64 124

Story Role / Major Arcs
Lincheng Project and Qin Family Conflict
Qin Mu deliberately relinquishes the Lincheng project after learning that a large ancient tomb lies beneath the site. When the Qin Family main branch forcibly takes the project, the discovery turns it into a severe financial loss. Qin Mu calmly confirms that the scheme depended on Third Master Qin’s greed and cooperation. 2 31
At Old Master Qin’s birthday banquet, he protects Cheng Lang’s opportunity to perform despite Qin Mi’s mockery. He also allows Cheng Lang to remain near him despite his friends’ suspicions that Cheng may be connected to the Qin Family conflict. 20 32
Relationship with Cheng Lang
After Cheng Lang saves his life, Qin Mu offers him a villa, luxury car, black card, employment opportunities, and broad personal support. Cheng Lang’s refusal to become dependent on him leaves Qin Mu uncertain about their relationship. 38 39
Qin Mu eventually confronts Cheng Lang directly, demanding either immediate intimacy or a chance to pursue him properly. Their relationship develops from attraction and mutual teasing into domestic partnership, with Qin Mu repeatedly seeking confirmation that Cheng Lang values the real person behind his public image. 47 50 51
During the Lunar New Year, Qin Mu openly introduces Cheng Lang to the entire Qin Family as “my beloved.” He repeatedly prioritizes Cheng Lang over family expectations, including arranging plum blossom cakes for him and publicly establishing that Cheng Lang will stay in his room. 90 92
Awakening and Departure from the Original World
Qin Mu’s self-awareness develops after repeated attempts by the World Consciousness to erase him. Cheng Lang’s intervention in the car accident gives his desire to survive an opening, allowing his attachment to Cheng Lang and resistance to predetermined fate to become fully conscious. 75
After Cheng Lang completes his mission, Qin Mu leaves his original world with him under the pretense of a honeymoon cruise. He awakens in the System Space and learns that his former life was part of a fictional Original-Work World. 222 223
System Space and Later Life
Qin Mu chooses to adapt to the System Space rather than return permanently to his original world. Cheng Lang recreates their former home and familiar vehicles to ease the transition, while Qin Mu begins training to become capable of accompanying him on cross-world missions. 223 224 226
After three months of training, Qin Mu and Cheng Lang return to their original world to reassure their families. Witnessing the Qin Group’s instability in his absence, Qin Mu begins training younger relatives and peers as successors.
