Chapter One
Fiore Kingdom
Magnolia Town
Fairy Tail Guild
"May I have your name, please?"
"Qi Yan."
"Your age?"
"18."
"What magic are you proficient in?"
"Take Over Magic."
"Take Over Magic?!"
Mirajane looked a bit surprised, not expecting him to be skilled in the same magic as her, though Take Over Magic was fairly common, so it wasn't strange for him to use it.
"Alright, registration is complete. Qi Yan, where would you like the guild stamp placed?"
Qi Yan placed his right hand on the counter: "Right on the back of this hand."
"Choose a color you like."
"Red."
Mira adjusted the stamp color, then pressed it onto the back of Qi Yan's hand, leaving a red Fairy Tail Guild emblem stamped there.
"Welcome to Fairy Tail. You're now an official member of Fairy Tail, too."
Mira said with a bright smile.
"Thank you."
Qi Yan looked at the Fairy Tail Guild emblem on the back of his hand, a faint surge of excitement stirring in his heart. A member of Fairy Tail? He had actually joined Fairy Tail. He knew that as long as dreams were cheap enough, they were likely to come true, but he had never heard of fantasies coming to life—yet all of this was happening right in front of him.
[Ding! Congratulations to the host for joining Fairy Tail. Would you like to bind to this guild?]
A panel visible only to him popped up in front of Qi Yan.
"Bind!"
[Ding! Binding successful! Congratulations to the host for obtaining a ten-pull! Would you like to draw?]
"Draw..."
Just as Qi Yan was about to tap to draw, he suddenly thought of something and said to Mira, "Mira, can you wish me good luck?"
Mira was a bit dazed, but she still flashed a bright smile and blessed Qi Yan: "Mr. Qi Yan, I wish you good luck."
She's so cute, I really want to marry her and bring her home as my wife.
With the Goddess's blessing, Qi Yan tapped the screen with his finger.
"Ten-pull!"
Starlight flashed across the screen, just like pulling cards in Genshin Impact.
A dazzling golden starlight was mixed among them.
"It's a gold!!"
Qi Yan was immediately thrilled upon seeing it, never expecting the very first ten-pull to yield a golden legend.
Soon, ten character cards appeared on the panel.
Qi Yan didn't look at the other small fry, focusing only on the first one, eager to see who his rolled golden legend character was.
Even without looking at the name, Qi Yan recognized the identity of the person upon seeing the character artwork.
"It's him!!"
Short, tousled black hair, chalk-white skin, green eyes, deep green tear-like lines running down from his eyes, a white horned helmet on the left side of his head, a rather slender build, wearing a high-collared, long-sleeved white jacket with a black lining and hakama pants, with a sword tucked at his waist, looking extremely elegant and handsome.
Ulquiorra Cifer.
The 4th Arrancar of Aizen's Arrancar Army in the Bleach anime.
Bleach was an anime Qi Yan loved to watch, and Ulquiorra was also a character Qi Yan adored.
Even though he was ranked only No. 4 among the Espada, that was merely his ranking in his First-Stage Resurrección. His unique Segunda Etapa, once activated, boosted his power drastically, and in the eyes of many, Ulquiorra was the strongest Espada.
Though he was ultimately defeated by Horned Ichigo, Horned Ichigo's strength, even by the anime's finale, might still be at the very top.
That didn't detract from Ulquiorra's strength in the slightest.
"This is simply amazing!!"
Qi Yan couldn't help crying out in joy; he hadn't expected to pull a golden legend on his very first try, and it was Ulquiorra at that—this was definitely an overwhelmingly powerful and formidable character.
Everyone in the guild turned their gazes toward Qi Yan.
"Hm? What's amazing?"
Mira looked at Qi Yan with some confusion, wondering why this newcomer looked so strange.
Qi Yan only then realized he had actually cried out loud without thinking: "Uh... I mean, joining Fairy Tail is just great!"
Hearing those words, Mira couldn't help smiling; mages who admired Fairy Tail often acted very happy when joining the guild, and she felt a lot of goodwill toward anyone who genuinely liked Fairy Tail.
"I'll show you around the guild."
"Okay, thank you."
Mira led Qi Yan to the request board first: "This is the request board, where missions posted by clients are put up. Guild members can choose requests that suit them based on the details, and collect commissions after completing them, which is also the main source of income for the guild's mages."
"The basement is the storage room, mainly used as a place to pile up the guild's odds and ends."
"What about the second floor?"
Qi Yan cast his gaze toward the second floor.
"The second floor is the infirmary. Guild members who get hurt and need treatment can go up there. Under normal circumstances, ordinary members are not allowed on the second floor; only S-Rank Mages are permitted up there."
"Why?"
"Because the jobs up there are all S-Rank requests and above, and almost every single one of them is a life-threatening mission, though relatively speaking the rewards are also much more lucrative. Only by becoming an S-Rank Mage do you qualify to take them."
"An S-Rank Mage?"
Qi Yan naturally knew about S-Rank Mages, who could be called the trump cards of a Mage Guild. Their strength was much greater than ordinary mages, and they were the pillars of a guild.
The smiling, gentle-looking young girl right in front of him was one of the S-Rank Mages in the Fairy Tail Guild.
"I will definitely become an S-Rank Mage."
Qi Yan said softly, but his tone was very firm.
"I wish you success soon!"
Hearing this, Mira smiled. She used to be just like Qi Yan; looking at him, she felt as if she were seeing her former self.
However, wanting to become an S-Rank Mage wasn't that easy, and she hoped Qi Yan could pull it off. With one more S-Rank Mage in the guild, the guild could grow even stronger.
