Fire Style: Majestic Destroyer Flame

The book was not very thick. Ed quickly finished reading it and understood why almost no one in the guild cared about this magic.

The magic was called Elemental Mastery. It sounded impressive, but the entire book only explained how to convert magic power into elements and nothing else. For example, if he converted it into fire as instructed, then what? There was no answer. The book did not say.

But that was not a problem for Ed. After all, magic power was actually pretty similar to chakra; both had a bit of that "I reckon it works" power to them.

So once I learn Elemental Mastery, things like Great Fireball and Water Dragon Bullet will be easy, won't they? Ed thought happily.

By evening, Ed had memorized the entire book and tried converting his magic power. He successfully produced a tiny flame and nearly burned down the library.

"Alright~ I'll train tomorrow and master this thing as soon as possible." Ed stretched, got to his feet, and headed outside.

As Ed walked down the street, he suddenly spotted Mira inside a shop. He quickly approached, patted her shoulder, and asked, "You already finished your mission? What are you buying?"

"Ah... oh, ingredients for dinner. Of course I finished it. Who do you think I am?" Mira lightly smacked Ed, then looked him over from head to toe. "Didn't you go out on a mission today?"

"Of course I did. I just finished early, so I came to the library to learn something new. After that fight with Bloodhand, I feel like my methods in combat still aren't enough."

"Did you gain anything?" Mira paid for her things, walked out of the shop with Ed, and continued chatting with him.

"Yeah. I've already tried it out. Tomorrow, I'm planning to train over at the back mountain and get a firm grasp on it. Then battles will be easier when I run into them again." As Ed spoke, he kept glancing at Mira's hand, trying to reach out and take her little hand. But Mira swung her arm too quickly. Several times, he nearly caught it, only for it to swing away again.

After several failed attempts, Ed sighed as he walked. Then he suddenly felt a small hand take his. Looking down, he saw that Mira had taken his hand on her own.

"Honestly, if you wanted to hold hands, you could've just said so. You kept reaching around over there—I thought you were trying to do something weird." Mira turned her head away and spoke calmly, but the faint red on her ears showed that her expression was probably less composed than her tone.

Feeling the soft, boneless little hand in his palm and seeing Mira's flushed ears and profile, Ed could not help pulling her into his arms and hugging her tightly.

"What's gotten into you, suddenly hugging me?" Mira was a little shy, but her arms obediently wrapped around Ed's back as she raised her head slightly and asked.

"Nothing. It just still feels a little unreal that we're dating. Like I'm dreaming." Ed looked down into Mira's pale blue eyes. "After all, I'm dating the prettiest girl in the guild~"

"Smooth talker!" Mira lightly stepped on Ed's foot. Seeing his exaggerated reaction, she laughed as well. "Want to come to my house for dinner? I bought beef today too~"

"Of course! I have to go! Your beef stew is seriously the best I've ever had!" "You won't say that once you get tired of it."

"How could that happen? I want to eat your cooking for the rest of my life~"

Amid their playful bickering, the short walk soon came to an end. After having dinner at Mira's house and sitting around to chat with Lisanna and Elfman for a while, Ed got up to head back and rest.

"Then I'll be going. See you tomorrow." Ed had barely stepped outside when Mira followed him out. "I'll walk you partway."

"Mm!" Neither of them spoke as they walked together for a while. When they reached a street corner, Mira stopped. "I'll see you off here, then. Be careful on your way back~"

"I'm a mage, you know. Don't underestimate me that much. So I'll head back now?" Ed said, but he did not leave. Instead, he stared intently at Mira.

Mira's pretty face reddened slightly at the sight. She took the initiative to hug him, and Ed naturally pulled her into his arms. "Honestly, are you a child? Can't you go back to the dorm unless you get a hug?" Mira complained, though her hands tightened slightly around him.

Ed buried his head in Mira's neck and inhaled the fragrance of her hair. "What can I do? My girlfriend is so cute and pretty that I can't get enough of hugging her."

"What are you saying?!" Though they had already confirmed their relationship, hearing it so suddenly still made Mira shy. She gently patted Ed's back. "Alright, that's enough. Go back already. It's not like you're going somewhere far away and we won't see each other for days."

"Even tomorrow feels so far away. I don't want to let go." Ed's childish sulking made Mira laugh and sigh. "Stop messing around. Don't you have training tomorrow? Go back and get some rest!"

"Alright, I'll miss you..." Ed walked toward the dorm, looking back every few steps. "Mm-hm, go on, go on. Miss me, miss me. If you're free tomorrow night, you can come over for dinner too. I'm making beef noodles tomorrow." Mira waved and started on her way home as well.

The next day, Ed got up early, washed up, and prepared to head to the back mountain to train the Elemental Mastery he had just learned. On the way, he ran into Mira and the other two, who were heading out of town for a mission. After exchanging simple greetings, they went their separate ways.

When Ed arrived at the back mountain, he recalled the feeling from yesterday and gathered magic power in his hand. With a boom, a tiny flame sprang up in his palm and burned vigorously.

"Mm... converting it into fire is more or less like this. Let's try spraying it from my mouth. I want to greet people by throwing out a Majestic Destroyer Flame too." Ed recalled the scene of Uchiha Madara's first appearance and could not help imagining himself in it.

"Gather the magic power in my chest... then convert it in my mouth... and finally... Fire Release! Majestic Destroyer Flame!" A thin jet of fire shot from Ed's mouth, about as thick as a bamboo stalk.

Ed looked at his first Fire Release and felt somewhat conflicted. He had successfully released fire, but it seemed like only a third of a half-baked attempt.

"Keep practicing! At the very least, I need to make a fireball." As Ed continued practicing, he gradually found the trick. Once the magic power had been converted and was ready to be released, he needed to add an outward-spreading force and control the total output of magic power according to his needs.

"Fire Release! Majestic Destroyer Flame!" With Ed's roar, flames surged from his mouth like a tidal wave, and the vast sea of fire dyed the sky red. Ed was very satisfied with the result. "Alright, done. I'll try some Lightning Release when I have time~"

Having mastered a new ability, Ed happily returned to town. He was planning to have dinner at Mira's house and spend some sweet time with his girlfriend while he was at it.
