Background

Natsu originally lived four hundred years before the present as Zeref Dragneel’s younger brother. Dragons destroyed their village and killed Natsu and their parents, leaving Zeref as the only survivor. Seeking to revive his family, Zeref created the Etherious demons and resurrected Natsu as END. 348 383

Zeref entrusted the resurrected Natsu to Igneel, who raised him, taught him Fire Dragon Slayer Magic, and later included him in the plan to defeat Acnologia. Natsu, Gajeel, Wendy, Sting, and Rogue were sent through the Eclipse Gate into the future, while the Soul Dragon Technique sealed their early memories. 348 383

Anna, Lucy Heartfilia’s ancestor, cared for the young Dragon Slayers and wove Natsu’s scarf from Igneel’s scales. Natsu did not recover these memories until his inner conflict between the Dragon Seed and Demon Seed nearly killed him. 383
