"You just said it, didn't you? Tartaros..." Hypnos had appeared behind Rex before anyone noticed. Heart-stopping, pitch-black magic rippled around him as he stared mechanically at Rex's stunned, cold face.
"You..." Rex struggled to turn around and staggered two steps back. His perpetually icy face was now filled with bewilderment and disbelief. He shakily raised his left hand to point at Hypnos, who had become utterly mechanical and shrouded in shadow. Blood gushed like a fountain from the enormous wound in his right side.
Magic gathered in his left hand, and a sharp black spear instantly appeared in his grip. Clutching it, Rex prepared to thrust forward, but his arm had only risen halfway—
"Rip—" Hypnos casually tore Rex's left arm clean off. Paying no attention to the crimson blood splashed across his face, he stared with hollow eyes at the blood-drenched Rex and asked mechanically, enunciating every word, "I asked you, did you just say it? Tar—ta—ros!"
"Hey! Hypnos!! Stop right now!" Only then did Achill recover from his shock. With a Flash Step, he appeared directly in front of Hypnos and blocked his path. Exasperated, he snapped, "Are you trying to kill him? I haven't finished asking my questions! If you have questions too, please wait your turn, okay?!"
He truly hadn't expected anything like this. The reason he hadn't deliberately moved farther away while fighting the stone-faced Rex was that he knew this seemingly friendly middle-aged man was hiding tremendous strength!
