After leaving Cloudmist Prefecture, his Hidden Dragon Ranking fame led him to join the Demon Ember Guild in Wildgoose City, where he prepared to resume training.

• Lin Qing broke through to the Skin-and-Flesh Realm, left Azure Sun County with the Wang Family Merchant Caravan, and reached Cloudmist Prefecture, where he joined the Martial Suppression Office as Xie Chen.
• Lin Qing helped expose Wang Huai'an, Wang Yu, and Chun Tao’s roles in Wang Xiaolong’s poisoning, and Wang Qingwan rewarded him after the suspects were sentenced.
• Lin Qing advanced his martial arts and cultivation, arranged private deliveries of beast meat through Wang Qingwan, and accepted her invitation to her wedding with Ye Lingchuan.

Lin Qing left the Summer Kingdom, entered Sunset Glow Valley, and advanced his cultivation while preparing to represent the sect in the Heavenly Prodigy Tournament. After surviving an ambush on the way to the capital, he arrived with the tournament only days away.

After he killed Pinecloud Abbey’s leaders over the Evening Forest Market dispute, Sunset Glow Valley faced the threat of being branded a Devil Dao sect.
