Background

Kakashi is a reborn outsider soul occupying Hatake Kakashi’s body, retaining knowledge of the original timeline and resolving not to follow the limitations of the original Kakashi’s life. He rejects reliance on the Sharingan early, believing it would cap his potential, and instead pursues a path founded on natural energy, bodily evolution, research, and self-created techniques 1 4.

His mother, Masako Hatake, died from illness when he was two. Her death devastated both Kakashi and his father, Hatake Sakumo, but also strengthened the bond between father and son 2. His focus on mission completion and personal growth can make him appear cold or detached. He openly rejects the belief that comrades should take precedence over missions, a stance shaped by his father’s fall and his own disillusionment with the shinobi system 62.
