Background

Shisui was introduced as a seven-year-old Uchiha prodigy who had graduated from the Academy early. Hōka brought him into Konoha’s Land of Rain reinforcement force and, at Setsuna Uchiha’s request, asked Kakashi to guide him in battle. Shisui admired Kakashi’s reputation and hoped to become a great ninja capable of improving relations between the Uchiha and Konoha. Orochimaru subsequently assigned him to operate under Kakashi. 84

Kakashi became Shisui’s principal mentor in both combat and politics. He challenged Shisui’s assumptions about the Uchiha’s conflict with Konoha, arguing that the clan’s true strength came from its capacity for love rather than hatred. Shisui accepted the responsibility to become strong enough to guide the clan away from rebellion, awakening his Two-Tomoe Sharingan during this realization. 85 86
