"...I understand."
Su Ming nodded. Even though Yu Zhong had put it that way, he still remained skeptical.
Yu Zhong could see Su Ming's distrust as well, but he did not say much. After all, he and Su Ming had only met a few times. It would be stranger if Su Ming actually believed him.
Compared with Su Ming, what puzzled Yu Zhong—and even made him uneasy—was Lin Jun's attitude.
That human from the great world had not questioned a single word he said from the very beginning, as if he would believe whatever Yu Zhong told him.
Not only toward him—even toward the old man who had brought him here, Lin Jun was the same, truly like a fool.
That utterly unreserved trust threw Yu Zhong into a panic. After all, he was a world consciousness established with humans as its template, and his way of thinking followed that of humans. Thus, he understood humanity, that inherently suspicious species, especially well.
Lin Jun's reaction was far too abnormal. In comparison, Su Ming seemed much more normal; Su Ming had never believed him.
"Believe it or not, you'll know when the time comes. I won't force you. Heh heh, no one wishes to die. You'll understand then."
Yu Zhong left with heavy thoughts. He was not dwelling on Su Ming's distrust; after all, reality would teach him how to behave.
What worried him more was Lin Jun. Being this abnormal... could he be plotting something?
He could not see through this human. He had no grasp of his true nature.
Meanwhile, on the upper levels of the tower, Lin Jun and Yu Zhong arrived in an unfamiliar space.
"This should be the place. Take a look around. This world is exceptionally special. For some reason, it has always existed here.
