Background / History
Su Ming became the Celestial Fox Clan’s chief by presenting a method that appeared capable of avoiding the Heavenly Tribulation. The method transformed its users into Sea Demons, and his clansmen accepted it out of fear of death. He also engineered Dragonrider Island’s involvement by leaking information about Thousand Dwelling Island, eventually drawing the Dragon Clan into the same transformation. 532
The method relied on planting Sea Demon aura into living beings, using their vital energy to suppress the Sea Demons’ frenzy, then absorbing compatible bloodlines. Su Ming spread this aura through the entire Celestial Fox Clan to facilitate his own purification. 540 According to Ling Zhi, their marriage had been a political arrangement, and Su Ming had long coveted her research into evading the Heavenly Tribulation; she further states that he killed their child after discovering there was no foolproof method. 521
His plan initially appeared successful. By the time he met Ling Zhi again, Su Ming’s demonic aura was fading, and he had become part of the Heavenly Tribulation itself. He intended to carry out Heaven’s will when the next Tribulation descended. 520 522 His purification later produced an unforeseen result: rather than becoming a true Sea Demon, he became a Demon of extraordinary purity while maintaining dominion over the Sea Demons. 583
Heaven’s Will subsequently revealed that it had originally hoped to use Lin Jun as its instrument against humanity, but chose Su Ming as a backup when Lin Jun became uncontrollable. Su Ming accepted this arrangement as the safest available route to survival, though he grew increasingly distrustful of Heaven’s Will’s promises and motives. 584 586 592
Personality
Su Ming is calculating, patient, and intensely survival-driven. He is willing to sacrifice clansmen, allies, and family for a chance to escape death and attain immortality. His plans typically rely on indirect control: manipulating bloodlines, setting layered traps, using avatars, and allowing others to believe they are acting voluntarily. 521 532 540
Despite his intelligence, Su Ming is deeply unsettled by forces he cannot explain—particularly Lin Jun. His confidence repeatedly collapses when Lin Jun demonstrates power beyond his expectations, after which he attempts to rebuild his resolve through deduction, rationalization, or alliances with stronger beings. 542 592 633
His purification also appears to have destabilized his emotions. Ling Zhi’s refusal to trust him provokes jealousy and hostility, while his interest in Lin Jun becomes possessive fascination rather than ordinary enmity. 522 541

Celestial Fox Bloodline Manipulation
Su Ming exploits the Celestial Fox bloodline as both a resource and a means of control.
- Sought Lin Jun’s Ancestral Fox Bloodline and attempted to force him to accept a “seed” for Su Ming’s stated goal of continuing the race. 540 541

- Uses avatars and remote influence to conceal his true location and preserve his main body. 520 540
