Ruthless remained calm, but Dijun stared at her in astonishment. "What... You've reached this level? During the Buddhism-Extermination War, you were only at the Quasi-Saint Peak, not even as strong as Emperor Zun and the others are now! How did you reach such heights in so little time?"
Dijun could hardly believe it. He had suspected something from the moment Ruthless appeared, but he hadn't dared believe it. He had thrown that punch to test her, only to find his suspicion confirmed.
During the Buddhism-Extermination War, Ruthless had neither started her cultivation over nor possessed the Yellow Plum. Naturally, she couldn't compare to Emperor Zun and the others as they were now.
But after starting over, Ruthless had spent untold years in seclusion.
Now that she had reappeared, the level of power she displayed was impossible to see through or fathom.
She gave him the same feeling Dijun and his peers did. When they fought Emperor Zun, the battles seemed evenly matched, yet Dijun and the others always remained unruffled, as though they were barely trying. One could at least discern something of Emperor Zun and his companions' cultivation, but Dijun and his peers were impossible to see through.
That level of power was indistinct, difficult to perceive.
Whatever level it was, though, Ruthless was undeniably powerful.
Ruthless stood with peerless grace. She raised a slender hand, dazzling Immortal Light shining from it, and said evenly, "A level of power is just that. With a strong enough foundation, anyone can reach it."
Those simple words brought a grave look to Dijun's eyes. Then he laughed. "Ha! True enough. Anyone who can cultivate can reach that level. But getting there is hardly easy! For a woman to reach it in so short a time—you're remarkable!"
