"Captain... we've brought Shirahoshi over, but is this little girl really going to become one of our crew?" World asked.

World found it strange, too. Ever since he had followed Ren to the East Blue, Ren had brought in quite a few children, including Kuina, Kaya, and Nami. All of them had exceptional talent. Kuina, for instance, progressed so quickly in swordsmanship that she was already a match for some ordinary swordsmen. Kaya had a remarkable grasp of medicine and frequently earned Olvia's praise. Nami's navigation skills put others to shame; at least, many of the navigators aboard Ren's ships had already lost to her.

Now Ren wanted to take another child with him. Although this child was enormous, the way she cried made her every bit a little girl.

Ren chuckled and looked at Shirahoshi. "A fine child. Stay by my side from now on!"

A hint of curiosity appeared on Shirahoshi's tearful face. Looking at Ren, she asked, "Stay with Lord Ren?"

Ren nodded. "That's right... come with me and see the world outside!"

Shirahoshi fell silent, but she had stopped crying. Otohime said, "Lord Ren... you know Shirahoshi's identity, or perhaps the power running through her blood. If the World Government learns of it, then..."

Ren gave Otohime a surprised look. "To think your king doesn't know, yet you, the queen, do!"

With a gentle grasp, he drew Shirahoshi to his side. She looked at him with tears streaking her face, and he wiped them away.

Otohime looked at Ren. "Lord Ren... Shirahoshi can't control that power yet. Please let her stay on Fish-Man Island. I'll teach her!"

Ren's piercing eyes flashed. "Enough... I know what you mean. Just leave Shirahoshi to me. Fish-Man Island has no right to resist yet. From now on, live on under
