As the Quincy war unfolded, the Soul Reapers confronted a Hollowfied leader whose Bankai threatened the Seireitei, while Shunsui returned from battle burdened by his comrades’ deaths. The Central 46 sent Shendu Wuming to Muken, and Shunsui began reconnecting with others as the story left his grief unresolved.

• Suzuko learned from Shuichi that the Seireitei was at war with the Quincy and that Shunsui’s Eighth Division had gone as the vanguard, while Yi Liang joined the academy and Tokinada approached her.
• Tokinada searched the Great Spirit Library for the origins of Zanpakutō and vowed to find the blade he believed was waiting for him.
• Unohana fought Candice Catnipp and four other Schrift holders in the Light Empire, while Amakusa Shirō took a noble party and Soul Reapers hostage at the mine in North District 68.
• Danjiro Obana defeated Amakusa and rescued the captives, but Shen Du found the settlement deserted and charged toward Seireitei after his Hollow powers surfaced.
• Shen Du fought Tezuka Laiming’s patrol and Chikiri Shijima, then accidentally pierced Wuran in Shijima’s Bankai and declared his own Bankai.
• Shuichi and Shijima joined the battle, and Senjumaru Shutara subdued Shen Du with her Bankai and took him away as Jueshu healed Wuran.
• Tokifusa Tsunayashiro revealed Shen Du’s identity and secured a ruling to send him to Muken under restrictions on research, while Shunsui used his Bankai after losing Watanabe, Ono, and Yamada.
• The Expeditionary Army returned with heavy losses, and Shunsui mourned beneath a cherry tree before meeting Oda Tenza, who shared Wuying Bingwei with him.

Shuichi helped establish new healing and training practices while Suzuko learned Kaidō, then Baraggan’s forces invaded Rukongai. The Soul Reapers repelled the Hollow assault, though Negación rescued the surviving Adjuchas and left the districts in need of recovery.

• Shuichi took Suzuko to Kirinji Hell Hot Spring, then told Yamamoto that Kirinji could help heal wounded soldiers.
• Senjumaru Shutara developed the Shihakushō, and Kirinji completed experimental Kaidō before teaching the captains and helping make healing instruction available more widely.
• Ukitake demonstrated his merged Zanpakutō, while Yi Liang returned to her clan for Shinto training and ended contact with Shuichi.
• Suzuko began learning Kaidō from Shuichi as Baraggan Louisenbairn claimed kingship over Hueco Mundo and sent Adjuchas after Harribel.
• Yamamoto sent Shiba Ichisegawa to East District Three, where Hollows poured through Garganta and Soul Reapers struggled to hold the defensive line.

Shuichi led an expedition into Hueco Mundo, where the Soul Reapers encountered Baraggan and his organized forces before withdrawing with heavy losses. Back in Soul Society, Shuichi searched for answers about Suzuko’s Zanpakutō, while political ties, new appointments, and Saito’s departure reshaped the lives around him.

• Central 46 ordered an expedition against Hueco Mundo’s Menos Grande, and Yamamoto appointed Shuichi its supreme commander.
• Suzuko asked to join the expedition as a healer, while Shunsui Kyōraku and Jūshirō Ukitake also agreed to accompany it.
• Shuichi assembled the force and led it through Hueco Mundo, where scouts detected a powerful concentration of reiatsu and the army prepared to engage.
• The Soul Reapers defeated a Gillian swarm, then fell into an ambush of Hollows and Adjuchas as Baraggan’s forces attacked their supply line.
• Baraggan Louisenbairn appeared and his corrosive mist began turning Saito’s hand to bone, but Suzuko used Dreamwoven Time: Time Silk to restore it before collapsing.
• Shuichi withdrew the expedition and reported that Baraggan claimed to be Hueco Mundo’s king and could command Hollows in coordinated combat.
• Shuichi searched the Great Spirit Library for information about Suzuko’s Zanpakutō after accepting Shigure Tsunayashiro as his sworn younger sister, but found no matching records.
• Shiki appointed Shigure as a clerk in the Thirteenth Division, while Saito handed over the Sixth Division and departed for Rukongai.

Shuichi and the Soul Reapers joined Wing Bind to confront Red Riding Hood and the Dark Dragons rampaging through Reverse London. While the reinforcements fought to restore the defensive line, Shuichi faced the Vasto Lorde Momotaro and trapped it in Kurohitsugi with his Bankai.

• Shuichi connected Qian Lida’s deteriorating soul to records showing that souls without Reiatsu could be eroded by the Seireitei’s high Reishi concentration.
• Suzuko’s Zanpakutō restricted her use of Shikai after the cost of reversing the Vasto Lorde’s accelerated time, and Shuichi later told her she could release it only with his permission.
• Okuharano awakened Tamamo as an independently conscious Bankai, qualified to succeed as captain, and took over the Twelfth Division after Shutara joined the Zero Division.
• Shijima’s Fourth Division reorganization established a new medical and rescue role, while Unohana fought Zaraki and later appeared with a healed scar between her collarbones.
• Yhwach granted Candice Catnipp the Schrift Thunderbolt, as Red Riding Hood’s rampage in Reverse London prompted Central 46 to order reinforcements from Seireitei.
• Yamamoto sent Shuichi and other Soul Reapers to Reverse London, where Yanyuan Jinle attacked Red Riding Hood, the Fourth Division set up medical stations, and the reinforcements fought the Lesser Dragons.
