Shuichi joined the First Division, awakened his Zanpakutō, and took part in the campaign against the Quincy. The Quincy launched a devastating invasion of Seireitei, and after Yamamoto confronted Yhwach, Shuichi found the wounded Furoufushi Saito facing another Quincy.

• Shuichi trained under Yamamoto and Sasakibe, graduated as a Soul Reaper, and chose to join the First Division.
• Shuichi discovered Quincy forces in Rukongai, fought their soldiers, and awakened his Zanpakutō, Heaven of the Other Shore.
• Shuichi and his companions destroyed a Quincy fortress and later investigated a Quincy base in Karakura Town, where they encountered Ishida.
• Ichibē Hyōsube warned Yamamoto that Yhwach was coming, while Shuichi learned that the hazy figure in his Inner World was his Zanpakutō.
• Yhwach’s forces invaded Seireitei, and captains and noble clans fought Sternritter across the city as Shuichi remained in Sword Meditation.

After the Quincy retreat, Shuichi became captain of the Thirteenth Division as the Gotei 13 rebuilt, founded Shin'ō Academy, and reorganized its forces. The arc ended with Shuichi’s division facing new duties in the World of the Living while the academy’s captains began teaching its first students.

• Shuichi and Furoufushi Saito fought Jugram Haschwalth, and Shuichi unlocked his Bankai before the Quincy withdrew from Seireitei.
• After the battle, Yamamoto organized the survivors and funerals, appointed Senjumaru Shutara as Twelfth Division captain, and asked Shuichi to lead the Thirteenth Division.
• Shuichi chose a site for the Thirteenth Division, while Yamamoto established Shin'ō Academy and arranged for the captains to teach recruits from Rukongai.
• Shendu Wuming and Wuran began building a safe community for wandering souls, even as many residents left to attend the new academy.

Shuichi’s life in the Gotei 13 and Shin'ō Academy intersected with the rise of new Soul Reapers, while a Hollow disaster and Zaraki’s arrival reshaped Rukongai. The arc left Shuichi and his companions battling captain-class reishi creatures near the site of Qian Lida’s final ritual, as an unfamiliar presence approached.

• Wang Tuchuan accepted Yamamoto’s offer to become Shin'ō Academy’s Chief Instructor, while Shen Du and Wuran founded Eternal Silence and prepared to repel raiders.
• Shuichi became Thirteenth Division vice-captain as the first graduating class joined the Gotei 13, and Suzuko awoke in Rukongai after her Soul Burial as a Hollow horde descended on West 47th District.
• Ichisegawa, Unohana, and the Gotei 13 divisions defeated the Hollow horde, while A-Jing and A-Sheng registered for the Spiritual Arts Academy and Shunsui met Jūshirō Ukitake there.
• Shuichi helped the Kidō Corps develop Kurohitsugi, named Suzuko Takeda Suzuko, and later made her his little sister, and Shunsui and Ukitake discovered their twin-blade resonance and Yamamoto took them under his instruction.
• A Hollow attack struck Eternal Silence, where Shen Du and Wuran fought before Zaraki killed many Hollows and rejected Shen Du’s invitation to join the settlement.
• Yamamoto sent Shuichi and Saito to escort Qian Lida to her final ritual, and the group was attacked by reishi creatures led by a captain-class presence.
• Shuichi, Saito, and the defenders struggled against the creatures until Shihōin Qianri arrived and helped contain their attacks, while Shuichi sensed an unfamiliar presence approaching.

Shuichi and his allies defeat the Soul King Fragment, while Suzuko and Ukitake begin their service in the World of the Living and Kyōraku joins the Eighth Division. A Quincy force enters West Rukongai, prompting the Gotei 13 to mobilize as Eternal Silence and Seireitei prepare for the conflict.

• Shuichi, Qianri, and Saito battled the Soul King Fragment, and its Torrent shattered Saito’s Zanpakutō before Ise Chiyo used the Eight-Mirror Sword to dissipate its attack at the cost of Qian Lida’s spiritual power.
• Qian Lida returned the Eight-Mirror Sword to Shuichi and entrusted Yi Liang to his care, while Saito recovered from her injuries and Shuichi resolved to improve his Danku.
• Suzuko and Ukitake joined the Thirteenth Division, served three months at Hachiman Shrine with Kagura, and returned to Soul Society after Honda came back.
• Kyōraku joined the Eighth Division, earned a seat through a quick victory, and grew fascinated by Bakuzan Katori.
• Kurt Meinel led Quincy soldiers into West Rukongai, where Katori’s search parties found them and Kyōraku and Wuchuan fought Kurt before Katori drove him off.
• Yamamoto assigned Unohana to lead the Eleventh Division west against the Quincies, with Yan Yuan supporting and Katori handling intelligence, while Haschwalth punished Kurt for his defeat.
• Amakusa Shirō took men to mine ore for Eternal Silence without consulting Shen Du or Wuran, while Suzuko and Ukitake completed their posting and the divisions organized supplies, patrols, and a logistics center for the western front.
• Kotani introduced Yamazaki, Watanabe, and Inokuchi to Kirinji’s hot spring, and they all enjoyed the bath.
