Kevin's fury, John's answer

That afternoon, in a conference room in Revival City.

Looking at Kevin before him, John calmly sipped his black tea, a flicker passing through his eyes.

To be honest, the special envoy's reaction after seeing the "evidence" had indeed caught him by surprise.

Before John could even steer him along the planned script, Kevin had proposed a deal himself.

John gathered his thoughts, slowly set down his teacup, and asked with a smile:

"Special Envoy Kevin, I'm very interested in the deal you just mentioned. Could you explain it in detail?"

"There's no rush. First, Governor John, I want to ask you something."

"How much do you know about Yuniski Perus?"

John raised his brows slightly, feigning surprise, then answered after a brief pause:

"To be honest, I don't know much about His Highness. I only know that he's Duke Mosesiris's eldest son and designated heir. According to our intelligence, His Highness has spent years building his influence in the Western Frontier. He has extensive connections and an excellent reputation." "An excellent reputation? Heh."

At John's answer, Kevin suddenly sneered. He toyed with his teacup for a long while before speaking pointedly. "Governor John, do you know how easily a reputation can be bought?"

"The first heir to the Mosesiris Duchy, a kindhearted prince? A famous philanthropist of the Western Frontier?"
