On the outskirts of Southshore, nearly all the knights under Roderick's command had assembled. Every one of them had polished his armor until it was spotless and carefully repaired any damage. Some had even brought along weapons passed down through their families.
This journey to Ironforge was not merely about representing Southshore and the honor of the Raven Guard Knights. They were also survivors of a kingdom on the verge of destruction. The blue two-headed eagle and the white raven banner were equally important.
Roderick looked over these knights in the prime of their lives, each one spirited and valiant. If he ordered them to charge into the Undead's lair now, they would still rush forward without hesitation.
He walked over to Augustine, saw the slightly awkward expression on his face, and said quietly, "You handled Brooks's matter well. I hope you'll keep reminding me like that in the future."
Before Augustine could answer, Roderick gave the order. The small force set off toward Dalaran, leaving a trail of swirling dust behind them.
Augustine had not expected Roderick to acknowledge his opinion. Yet Roderick had not said killing Brooks had been the wrong choice, either. There were not many matters in this world that were simply right or wrong. Augustine watched the departing party, his thoughts in turmoil.
Outside Dalaran, Albert, Remilia, Wendell, and the others had long been waiting. When they spotted dust rising in the distance, Wendell and another Gnome mage began working together to open a group arcane portal to Ironforge.
By the time the Raven Guard party arrived, the portal radiating intense magical energy had just been completed. Seeing Remilia unexpectedly standing there in black mage robes, everyone looked to Roderick, unsure what was going on.
