"The world of mortals. Honestly, after smelling Chaos Daemons and Greenskins for so long, a place like this isn't bad for a change. Tell me, Astartes, where is this?"
"You should already know this world's name. In the common language here, it is called Azeroth. Based on the scans just performed, the atmosphere is of excellent quality. Its oxygen content is slightly higher than that of Holy Terra, reaching over 33%. The other components are roughly similar. There are some strange gas molecules for which the database found no corresponding information; they are likely atmospheric components unique to this world."
"I also used cells from your stomach to analyze the fish soup you drank earlier and determine its exact composition. The structure of its water molecules is almost completely identical. The proteins, amino acids, and fats in the fish flesh are all within normal levels. No toxic components have been detected in the meat for now. However, this fish the locals call the Spiny-whiskered Catfish has an abnormally high calcium content, probably more than three times that of ordinary fish. That is why there seemed to be rather a lot of bones in the soup."
"The clothing you are wearing is mainly cotton, mixed with a small amount of linen. The band tied around your sister's wrist should be silk. I am still comparing its composition, so I do not yet know whether it is identical to the silk from Holy Terra..."
"Wait, Astartes. Why can you even detect that? Have you evolved some strange new function? Oh, beautiful maiden above! You are merely an artificial intelligence core."
"When Remilia supported you, her hand came into contact with your skin. You should have faith in the Adeptus Mechanicus's technology. As an artificial intelligence life-form united with you as one, I can sense the indescribable thoughts within your heart. However, I have not evolved feelings toward the opposite sex. Would you like me to explain the advanced nature of artificial intelligence in detail..."
"Fine, shut up!"
"All for the Imperium! As you wish, Lieutenant. Based on the atmospheric composition and my analysis of Roderick's battle scenes from your memories, Azeroth's gravitational constant is slightly higher than that of Holy Terra, and its biological evolutionary system follows an entirely different concept. The creatures living here possess combat capabilities far exceeding those on Terra. I hope you will keep that in mind in the future."
"I have already begun building a biological database for every strange creature that appeared in your memories. Since there is no living specimen data, I cannot conduct any further analysis at present. In addition, your previous strength in this world was probably somewhat above that of the Imperial Guard's second-line troops. Congratulations. You are not utterly useless cannon fodder. Before you lost consciousness, more than a dozen Murloc warriors died beneath your sword."
"Ha, I'm not cannon fodder. That really is welcome news. This world is not as safe as it looks. I need to improve my strength as soon as possible. At the very least, I cannot be beaten by a bunch of screeching Murlocs. Even in Azeroth, I am still a proud Raven Guard."
"Space Marines never know fear."
"If you wish to regain the strength of a former Son of the Raven here, it will likely be no easier than defeating the four Chaos Gods alone. The mathematical probability approaches zero infinitely. Without the aid of the Martian Mechanicum, neither a Thunderhawk Gunship nor a Stormraven Gunship, nor a Dreadnought, a Land Raider, or even your Terminator Armour can be manufactured. Put simply, Lieutenant, the only thing you can rely on now is your own strength."
"It seems I need to adapt to this primitive, backward planet. Before learning knightly training, I first need to change my eating habits, otherwise..." Roderick muttered with a somewhat depressed self-mocking laugh.
"The Emperor is the Omnissiah. I have also analyzed the rust residue left inside your body by the Murlocs' weapons. Its molecular formula is basically identical. Also, you need not worry about eating."
"I have already devised a plan for the Space Marine augmentation surgeries, Lieutenant."
Roderick suppressed the excitement in his heart,
and began reading the special plan Astartes had provided. First: extract the Raven Guard gene-seed hidden deep within the body and test it for necrosis, mutation, or other abnormalities. If everything is normal, proceed to the next step.
"Wait! Astartes, have you not noticed something strange? My body has completely vanished, so where did you extract this most important Raven Guard gene-seed from?"
"...Your soul. The depths of your soul."
"..."
"Do not be surprised. The Emperor already knows. The Emperor is watching. Our arrival in Azeroth may well be the Emperor's will. Since genes can exist within a human body, they can naturally be extracted from the soul as well. Even I, an artificial intelligence core, now exist only within your sea of consciousness. This actually makes things much more convenient; the speed at which I can read your thoughts is faster than before by..."
"But that isn't Omnissiah at all!"
"Even the Machine God has matters beyond his reach. The Emperor taught us: mortals ought to know fear. In any case, do not dwell on such trivialities." Left speechless, Roderick could only continue reading the following section:
Second: the secondary heart. By cultivating cells from the original heart and injecting them with gene-seed, it will develop into an organ even more powerful than the original heart. (The secondary heart can not only accelerate the blood supply, but also maintain complete physiological functions if the recipient's original heart is damaged. The first-stage implant allows a Space Marine to survive in low-oxygen conditions or while suffering external injuries.)
Third: the ossmodula. This is a tubular organ whose small size contains a complex structure. The ossmodula monitors and secretes hormones that affect epiphyseal healing and bone ossification. At the same time, special engineered hormones promote the absorption of ceramic compounds by bone tissue. For a period after implantation, this will cause significant strengthening of the long bones and extreme ossification of the chest cavity (the ribs grow into bone plates, interlocking and overlapping into a single whole), while comprehensively increasing the recipient's skeletal size.
Fourth: the biscopea. This organ is implanted in the chest cavity. It is small and nearly spherical, and its main function is hormonal regulation, similar to the ossification enhancement module. The biscopea can stimulate the development of human muscles.
Fifth: the haemastamen. This minute organ is implanted within a major blood vessel. The haemastamen has two functions. First, it monitors, or to some extent controls, the organs implanted during stages one and two. Second, it alters the recipient's blood composition. As a result, a Space Marine's blood is more efficient than that of an ordinary person. Since a Space Marine's body contains so many additional "biological components," this step is absolutely indispensable.
Sixth: more lungs. This is another major organ implant, sometimes called the "third lung." It is a gray tubular organ...
