Shh, Don't Make a Sound

"Don't call me something that mushy. It scares me."

Bai Zhu had half his body hanging out of the shattered roof when the monster horde caught up again.

"If you're scared, then save me already!"

"My car's about to fall apart!"

Bai Zhu glanced down into the car.

Three rows of buttons beside the steering wheel were all glowing red. The passenger seat was a mess, and the backseat had been modified into a weapons rack, though more than half of it was already empty.

Most absurdly, the car stereo was still playing.

"Young master, didn't you say this car had been dismantled?"

Milluki was on the verge of collapse.

"Is that the important part? If you like it, it's yours!"

"The important part is that you stole my playlist and didn't pay the licensing fee."

"I'm about to die!"

"Then you can owe me the licensing fee for now. Also, it's my car now, so drive carefully."

Milluki nearly drove the car into a tree.

Behind them, a monster with a Black Gold shell on its back leaped off the shoulders of its own kind, claws shooting toward the roof.

Without even turning around, Bai Zhu raised a hand and fired a bolt of White Lightning.

The flash of electricity pierced the monster's chest and nailed it back into the horde.

Several monsters immediately pounced on it and tore into it. After swallowing a few bites, their speed increased again.

Bai Zhu's brow twitched.

"Young master, these things can level up by eating their companions?"

Milluki shouted until his voice was hoarse.

"You only noticed that now?!"

"I blew up a bunch earlier. After they ate them, they started chasing me again, and there were more and more of them!"

"What the hell did you provoke?"

"Provoke my ass!
