Milluki saw Bai Zhu's movement, and his first reaction was to retreat to the side.
He retreated with exceptional professionalism.
First, he secured the terminal to a deck crate, then he hugged the backup power supply to his chest, and finally crouched against the cabin door.
Bai Zhu's eyelids twitched at the sight.
"Young Master, why are you so practiced at this?"
Milluki did not look up, maintaining his curled-up posture.
"I'm activating Zetsu."
"Do you need to hide that far away to activate Zetsu?"
"This is a safe distance."
"Do you not trust me?"
Milluki finally looked up, his tone utterly sincere.
"When you ask that, doesn't your conscience hurt?"
Bai Zhu could not be bothered to answer him.
Morel stood by the bow, his pipe still in his mouth, as the Purple Smoke Cage maintained its final layer of thickness.
The fish outside were still ramming against it.
Farther away, the dark shapes of those sea beasts were already visible to the naked eye.
Morel looked toward Bai Zhu.
"I'll ask one more time. How confident are you?"
Bai Zhu rested a hand on his sword hilt and steadied his breathing.
"I can definitely create flames strong enough to attract the fish."
Morel stared at him.
"I asked about breaking out."
Bai Zhu answered bluntly.
"That depends on whether you can run fast enough."
Captain Nishimatsu heard that from the helm room doorway and immediately cursed.
"You little brat, can you stop talking like such an ass?"
"Captain, I'm just being honest."
"Honesty doesn't mean you have to be a jinx."
Milluki lowered his head to look at the terminal.
"I support the captain."
Bai Zhu turned back.
"Weren't you activating Zetsu? Shutting up would suit you better."
Milluki ignored him, enlarged the display, and lowered his voice.
