Bai Zhu had wanted to find a chance to probe them and see what the two of them were hiding from him, but a burst of hurried footsteps suddenly came from outside the command room.
The Purple Smoke Soldier pushed open the door and gestured at Morel.
Morel picked up his pipe. "He's here."
Bai Zhu immediately rushed out of the command room.
The moment he reached the deck, he saw a long, narrow line of waves rising on the sea ahead.
The wave line was coming toward them against the wind.
It was incredibly fast.
Bai Zhu's first reaction was to put his hand on his sword.
"Young Master!"
Milluki poked his head out from the bridge.
"I see it."
Morel stepped to the front of the deck, pipe already in hand.
All the Purple Smoke Soldiers turned.
The turrets slowly shifted, locking onto the wave line.
Bai Zhu could not help taking half a step back.
"Morel, don't tell me this is your reinforcement?"
Morel nodded. "Mm."
Bai Zhu's hand froze.
"Do all you Ocean Hunters make entrances this flashy?"
The wave line drew closer and closer.
Only then did Bai Zhu see that someone was standing atop the wave.
There was a surfboard beneath the person's feet.
The wave lifted him up, and he rode its momentum forward. Lowering his body, he skimmed across the sea in a beautiful arc.
As he neared the warship, the wave beneath his feet suddenly rose higher.
The next second, both man and board flipped onto the deck.
Bang.
The surfboard landed steadily.
The newcomer shook his hair out and raised a hand in greeting.
"Yo, Morel. Long time no see."
Bai Zhu stood beside him in silence.
Milluki was silent too.
Morel lowered his pipe slightly.
"You're late."
