Chrollo found it truly strange. He was certain he had never met Luo Ye before, yet from Luo Ye's behavior during their conversation, Luo Ye seemed to understand him even better than he had imagined.
But that shouldn't have been possible. They should never have met before, so why was Luo Ye so wary of him?
They had clearly never met, yet Luo Ye understood him so well. How interesting.
Chrollo raised an eyebrow, his tone meaningful. "This is getting more and more interesting."
Sooner or later, he would uncover the secret Luo Ye was hiding. For now, he should deal with the little mouse that had sneaked in.
In the bathroom mirror, Luo Ye looked at the figure reflected within and his mouth twitched. "Do you know people can be scared to death by other people?" God knew that when he looked up and saw someone else in the mirror, his heart had nearly stopped.
If he hadn't recognized the figure, he would have thought he had wandered onto the set of a horror movie.
"Is that so?" the female voice replied belatedly. "Then should I call out to you first next time?"
Luo Ye politely declined. "No, thanks!" That would be even scarier, all right? "By the way, my name is Luo Ye. What's yours?"
They were fellow countrymen, after all. They should at least exchange names.
"My name is Zhang Tian'ai. You can call me Xiao Ai."
"Oh, Xiao Ai. Is there anything I can help you with?" As a fellow transmigrator, seeing her in such a miserable state stirred a rare sense of sympathy in Luo Ye. Even if it might bring him some trouble, he still hoped he could help her—preferably by turning her back into a human.
Xiao Ai's tone was full of distress.
