"Crack."

With a sharp sound, the slave shackles opened. Ye Chen's first sensation was freedom from restraint. Both physically and mentally, it felt wonderful.

"Baby, I've unlocked you. Hurry up and excite me."

Tossing aside the slave shackles, the fat woman's eyes gleamed. The flesh all over her body quivered as she could barely wait any longer.

Rolling his neck, Ye Chen smiled, revealing a row of exceptionally white teeth. He reached out as if to stroke the fat woman's cheek.

The fat woman actually narrowed her eyes, beginning to enjoy herself.

"Bang!"

All of a sudden, Ye Chen's hand exploded. Flesh and blood sprayed everywhere, and half the fat woman's face was blown into a mangled mess, exposing bloody muscle and bone. She fell to the ground, wanting to scream.

The smell of blood turned Ye Chen's eyes crimson. He climbed onto the fat woman's neck, covered her ruined mouth with one hand, and used his ability again with the other.

Blood flew through the air. The fat woman's pupils widened as she tried to shriek, but Ye Chen gave her no chance. Her shattered mouth was tightly covered by his hand.

"Bang! Bang!"

He had to thank the fat woman for having such good soundproofing in her room. The explosions were not particularly loud either, so no one noticed for the moment.

"Gurgle, gurgle..."

Blood bubbles continuously rose from her mouth. Terror finally appeared in the fat woman's eyes as she struggled without stop.

His face covered in blood, Ye Chen smiled soundlessly. His eyes were bloodshot, and he looked like a vicious ghost, filled with savagery and pleasure.

One explosion after another rang out. Blood filled the entire room. Ye Chen blew apart the fat woman's limbs one by one, then finally stood up and looked at her body, as though she had been dismembered.

At that moment, the fat woman was barely alive. Bloody foam kept spilling from her mouth as she shook her head and stared at Ye Chen in terror.

Ye Chen stared at her fervently, stretched out his tongue, and licked the foul-smelling blood from the corner of his mouth, wearing an expression of enjoyment.

He raised his hand. It was completely unharmed. Clenching it, he revealed a savage grin.

At first, his ability could only affect tiny substances on his body, such as boogers and hair. But over the past month, Ye Chen had learned to concentrate explosions in both hands—in his ten fingers.

The Bomb-Bomb Fruit was not as perfect as Ye Chen had imagined. Exploding his flesh caused him pain. Although everything would eventually return to normal, as though he possessed an immortal body, that pain was real.

For instance, when one of Ye Chen's fingers exploded, it truly felt as though a bomb had blown it apart. The pain was real. Though it only lasted an instant, to Ye Chen, it felt eternal.

Fortunately, this pain would not increase as the power of his explosions grew. It remained within a fixed range.

In the past, such pain would have made Ye Chen cry and howl; it had been unbearable. But now, he had merely grown accustomed to it. He even enjoyed it in a twisted way.

Pain was pain at first. But after experiencing enough of it, one became accustomed to it. The process, however, was utterly insane.

Perhaps during that process, one might break down, end one's own life, or become a walking corpse. But there was another possibility: one's mind could become twisted, until one came to see it as a form of enjoyment.

Clearly, Ye Chen was in that state now. Pain was not merely something he had grown accustomed to—it had become something he enjoyed.

Such people were usually no longer normal. They were lunatics, madmen, because their hearts had become twisted beyond measure. They were capable of doing anything that defied common sense.

One could imagine how much cruel suffering it took to turn someone who had merely been a somewhat rebellious flower raised in a greenhouse into this neither-human-nor-ghost, mentally distorted person.

Some things could only be understood when they truly happened to oneself. Only then would one realize how despairing the difference was between what one had heard or seen before and reality.

Tilting his head back slightly, Ye Chen walked eerily over to the fat woman, crouched down, and reached out to caress the uninjured half of her face.

The fat woman shuddered all over. Even the pain seemed to vanish at that moment, because her soul felt as if it were being slowly devoured by a boundless, pitch-black abyss.

She opened her mouth but could not say anything. Yet Ye Chen could see from her eyes that she was begging him now, just as he had once begged her.

"I begged you like this before too. Don't worry, I'll make sure you die painfully."

His lips curled, his pale teeth stained red with blood. Ye Chen suddenly thrust out two fingers and gouged out the fat woman's eyes while she was still alive.

"Ah..."

Her faint scream only made Ye Chen more excited.

For a full ten minutes, abnormal sounds echoed throughout the bedroom. If anyone had entered at that moment, they would have found shattered flesh and blood scattered all over the floor.

Standing amid the blood, Ye Chen raised his head. Blood dripped wetly from both hands, while heavy breaths rushed from his nose.

After venting, Ye Chen felt empty inside, even somewhat nauseated. But the moment he thought of his past suffering, he gritted his teeth and revealed a chilling smile.

This was only the first.

The next day, the fat woman's death caused a small stir, though only in the areas from 70 to 79—the Hotel Street. Fortunately, she held no important status, and her relationships had been terrible. No one sought justice for her, not even those burly men.

This was reality. This was the pirate world, a dog-eat-dog world where strength reigned supreme.

As for Ye Chen, few people cared about him. After all, who cared about a slave? Especially a child slave, who might die in some corner at any moment.

But no one knew that a sick, twisted demon had broken free of his cage and begun to emerge into the world. And all of this had been forced upon him!

The entire Sabaody Archipelago was divided into six areas.

Numbers 1 through 9 housed human trafficking shops, slave auctions, and lawless places. It was a dark land where all sorts of people mingled.

Numbers 0 through 9 were residential areas, including Soap Bubble Park and the like.

Numbers 40 through 49 were sightseeing areas, with specialty stores, businesses, and similar places.

Numbers 50 through 59 housed shipyards and coating craftsmen. It was effectively a port dedicated to coating pirate ships for travel to Fish-Man Island.

Numbers 60 through 69 were Marine garrisons, as well as residential areas for people of high status.

Numbers 70 through 79 were the Hotel Street where Ye Chen currently stayed. He had spent over a month there, and it had left him with memories that could never be erased—memories that tore at his heart and that he would never forget for the rest of his life.

Now, Ye Chen stood outside a Marine garrison, staring at the seagull flag with calm, unruffled eyes.

Over the past month, Ye Chen had thought about many things. In the end, he decided that he should join the Marines first.

His body was only that of a twelve- or thirteen-year-old, and he had developed his ability only slightly. If he went out alone, he would undoubtedly die.

After enduring so much torture, if Ye Chen still failed to see this world clearly and his temperament had not matured, then he deserved all that suffering.

Fortunately, Ye Chen had grown up. So he wanted to live.

And for now, the best choice was the Marines.

Most importantly, Ye Chen wanted to grow up safely and have more time to develop his ability. Besides, the Marines possessed something he wanted.

This world had no laws, no order, and no kindness. It had only strength.

Only with strength could one survive—could one live well.

Turning around, Ye Chen looked in the direction where he had been auctioned off. His face twisted into a grim expression before he resolutely turned back and walked toward the Marine base.

What you owe me, I'll take back a thousandfold someday. You all have to die.

Violent malice surged from him, filled with ruthlessness. If anyone had seen Ye Chen's expression, they would have been startled, because it was not an expression a twelve- or thirteen-year-old child should possess.

Once again, the timeline of this book is complete nonsense!

If not for fear of censorship, this chapter would definitely have been even bloodier and more nauseating. Sigh, better to learn from the lesson of being world-weary and keep a low profile!
