"Glug, glug, glug, glug, glug, glug!!!"
Kaido leaned against his tiger-skin chair, pouring bitter liquor down his throat. No one dared provoke him. Corpses littered the floor.
Every one of them had been Kaido's subordinate. A tall man lay off to one side, his head covered in blood, still breathing.
"Linlin..." Kaido drank on, while everyone outside the door trembled with anxiety.
Ever since they had brought the latest newspaper inside, Jack was the only person in the room still breathing. Everyone else had been killed.
Even Jack had been knocked unconscious with a single blow of Kaido's club. One of the Beasts Pirates' Three Calamities had lasted just one hit against him.
Of course, that was nothing unusual. Hadn't Luffy, the so-called fifth Emperor who wanted to become the Pirate King, also gone down in one hit?
"Linlin's dead. Yes, I owed you a favor. But Rogge, do you know what you've done? I'll kill you. Just you wait. Perhaps when I start a world war, I'll kill you first," Kaido muttered.
Charlotte Linlin was dead, killed in single combat. Kaido had never imagined it would actually happen. Still, having helped her twice, he had more or less repaid the favor he owed her from all those years ago.
"Rogge, you want to follow that man's path, don't you? Then you'll have to get past me." Kaido smashed his wine jug against the floor.
Crash!
"Hasn't the Demon Feast started yet? I want to kill someone!" Kaido roared.
"Charlotte Linlin's dead. That was unexpected. Kaido may be called invincible in a one-on-one fight, but even he's never killed another Emperor head-on, has he?" Benn Beckman said, holding the newspaper.
"That man's getting more and more dangerous," Lucky Roux said.
"Captain, are we really not going over there?" Yasopp asked.
