As sunlight spilled down, the battle between Kaido and Rogge had come to an end.
Queen and King stopped fighting. Jack was already lying in a pool of blood, his eyes wide as he stared incredulously at the sky. No breath passed through his nostrils.
"Was it over?!" Queen stared blankly.
King braced one hand against a rock and held his head with the other, watching in disbelief.
Two figures, one large and one small, stood beneath the sunlight. Yet the smaller figure cast an enormous shadow, while the larger figure lying on the ground was engulfed by it.
"Kaido!" Rogge stared at Kaido, who lay beneath his shadow.
Kaido was covered in blood. His horns had snapped off, and several bloody holes riddled his body. He looked at Rogge, every tooth in his mouth shattered. His body was in much the same state, with broken bones in many places.
"Finally going to die!" Kaido said, spraying a great mouthful of blood.
"Yeah. Aren't you supposed to be the undying Kaido? Why are you afraid of death?" Rogge asked.
"Who isn't afraid of death? Undying? I never said I couldn't die. I should've died back then, but I owed Charlotte Linlin my life. She saved me. Thinking about it now, maybe I should've just died then. At least I wouldn't have had to live in misery!" Kaido said.
"Then why wouldn't you join me and turn this world upside down?" Rogge asked.
"Don't joke around, Rogge. Don't think I don't know. Once you take over this world, you'll kill just as many people as the Celestial Dragons. You'll never let me live," Kaido said through gritted teeth.
