Shandia and the Sky Lord

The next day, news of Annus's return swept across all of Birka like a hurricane.

All laws established by God Lucifer were abolished, and every policy and system reverted to the era of God Annus's rule six years ago.

Aside from feeling as though a lifetime had passed, the people of the Sky Islands were even more delighted.

"Lord Annus has returned!"

"Everything is back!"

"Wonderful! We won't have to live in fear every day anymore!"

Lucifer had been God for six years, twice as long as Annus had ruled, yet no one loved him.

No... perhaps there were some. Those who had benefited under Lucifer's umbrella of power were perhaps the only group on the Sky Islands that did not wish to see him fall.

The Enforcement Squad members who had oppressed the people for years were all dragged to the square and publicly displayed.

Following Annus's wishes, Lilith listened to the suggestions of the Sky People, ranked their crimes by severity, and handed down punishments accordingly.

The worst offenders among the enforcers were all publicly beheaded.

The sight of blood staining the execution platform intimidated many who harbored ill intentions and served as a vital warning.

The original God Guard was also reorganized after a purge, taking in more old subordinates who had once been loyal to Annus but had been forced out by Lucifer. A large number of the original God Guard members were dismissed and stripped of their posts.

Those old subordinates who, for various reasons, had not chosen to follow Annus down to the Blue Sea also emerged one after another like bamboo shoots after rain.

However, Annus did not give every old subordinate the opportunity to continue serving him. Instead, he had Lilith screen them, rejecting all those opportunists who were not truly loyal.
