The Ice Empress stopped midsentence when she caught the scent of what Jiang Lan had taken out.
He had brought out a pill, and it gave off a faint fragrance.
"Will this do?" Jiang Lan asked, looking at the Ice Empress.
The Ice Empress found herself torn. She wanted to agree, yet she also didn't.

The Ice Empress's venomous stinger swayed gently behind her. Hearing him call her big sister sent a tingle through the flesh beneath her shell.
In all her years, human Soul Masters had either shouted threats to kill her or taken to their heels at the sight of her. This was the first time anyone had called her big sister so affectionately.
