Background / History

Originally known as Luo Sanpao, the creature was Yu Xiaogang’s unusual External Beast Martial Soul. Qin Qi identified Luo Sanpao as a valuable foundation for a future Golden Saint Dragon because it possessed self-awareness and could fight independently while Qin Qi used the Formless Hand from behind the front line 2.

Qin Qi later captured Luo Sanpao with Heart Steal, refined it into his third Martial Soul, and erased its connection to Yu Xiaogang. The newly claimed Martial Soul immediately became affectionate toward Qin Qi, who renamed it the Golden Saint Dragon and promised to cultivate it into a true dragon rather than dismiss it as useless 9.

Qin Qi accelerated its growth by feeding it Soul Beast essence and refined Soul Ring energy. This process gradually reshaped it from a round, puppy-like creature into a scaled, winged, horned dragon with lightning affinity, though the transformations caused it considerable pain 10 11.

During its first major evolution, Qin Qi used Heart Steal again to deepen their connection and share its suffering. The Golden Saint Dragon initially tried to push him away to spare him pain, but accepted his support after Qin Qi insisted that they would grow stronger together 12.

Its later development relied on Qin Qi’s stolen resources: the Blue Silver Emperor’s life origin gave it healing-related life energy, Ah Yin’s remaining form increased its vitality, and the Evil Fire Phoenix’s energy added fire to its elemental arsenal 19 20 27 31 33.

The Golden Saint Dragon began as a small, plump creature resembling a yellow puppy, but repeated absorption of Soul Beast essence and refined energy transformed it into a large dragon-like External Beast Martial Soul 9 11.

Personality

The Golden Saint Dragon has limited, animal-like intelligence but displays unwavering trust in Qin Qi, recognizing him as its master after its refinement. It is highly affectionate, frequently rubbing against him, coiling around him, and seeking praise after performing well 9 12.

It is also protective of Qin Qi. It becomes distressed when he injures himself during experiments and uses life-attribute breath to heal him. During its own transformation, it attempted to force Qin Qi away rather than let him share its pain 12 20.

Its attachment can become playful and competitive: it grew jealous when Qin Qi’s summoned Golden Dragon Claw received attention, then eagerly demonstrated its own stronger lightning attack 12.
