Background / History

Originally known as Luo Sanpao, the creature was Yu Xiaogang’s unusual External Beast Martial Soul. Qin Qi identified Luo Sanpao as a valuable foundation for a future Golden Saint Dragon because it possessed self-awareness and could fight independently while Qin Qi used the Formless Hand from behind the front line 2.

Qin Qi later captured Luo Sanpao with Heart Steal, refined it into his third Martial Soul, and erased its connection to Yu Xiaogang. The newly claimed Martial Soul immediately became affectionate toward Qin Qi, who renamed it the Golden Saint Dragon and promised to cultivate it into a true dragon rather than dismiss it as useless 9.

Qin Qi accelerated its growth by feeding it Soul Beast essence and refined Soul Ring energy. This process gradually reshaped it from a round, puppy-like creature into a scaled, winged, horned dragon with lightning affinity, though the transformations caused it considerable pain 10 11.

During its first major evolution, Qin Qi used Heart Steal again to deepen their connection and share its suffering. The Golden Saint Dragon initially tried to push him away to spare him pain, but accepted his support after Qin Qi insisted that they would grow stronger together 12.

Its later development relied on Qin Qi’s stolen resources: the Blue Silver Emperor’s life origin gave it healing-related life energy, Ah Yin’s remaining form increased its vitality, and the Evil Fire Phoenix’s energy added fire to its elemental arsenal 19 20 27 31 33.

The dragon’s appearance and lightning abilities attracted the attention of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan while Qin Qi fought publicly as Luo Mian. During Yu Yuanzhen’s investigation, its lightning involuntarily resonated with his own, reinforcing his belief that Qin Qi belonged to the clan. This was treated as evidence of ancestry by Yu Yuanzhen rather than proof of Qin Qi’s actual parentage 34 38 39 40.

After fighting Yu Tianxin and meeting Yu Tianheng, Qin Qi secretly obtained small amounts of their Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Origin and fed them to the Golden Saint Dragon. This replenished its previously deficient dragon-based origin, awakened Dragon Might, and produced a new form of feedback that improved Qin Qi’s foundation and Soul Power. Qin Qi subsequently planned to gather small portions of Origin from many clan members rather than noticeably weakening any single donor 47 48.

At the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, the Golden Saint Dragon helped Qin Qi defeat the disciples assigned to test him and suppressed the gathered clansmen with its superior bloodline aura. Qin Qi later gathered Origin throughout the Nine True Dragon Mountains. Once the dragon had consumed 150 portions, he supplied his entire reserve of Soul Rings and medicinal herbs to support its second evolution 56 61 63.

The transformation produced the Golden Saint Dragon King, with a Dragon King-level bloodline, sacred light, stronger majesty, and the ability to change its size. Qin Qi distinguished its bloodline rank from its actual combat strength, acknowledging that it remained far weaker than a true Dragon King. He nevertheless raised their shared ambition from simply soaring through the heavens to eventually claiming the position of Dragon God 64.

In the Star Dou Great Forest, the Golden Saint Dragon King protected Qin Qi and Ning Rongrong during a beast tide and fought alongside Qin Qi against a Thousand-Year Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear. After the bear’s defeat, Qin Qi chose to invest its Origin and growing External Palm Bone in the dragon rather than absorb the bone himself or strengthen the Formless Hand. The ensuing painful transformation granted dark-gold scales and claws and transmitted metal-attributed power back to Qin Qi 68 72 73 79.

Following the suppression of the conspirators at Blue Tyrant Academy, Qin Qi stole Flender’s Four-Eyed Cat Owl Martial Soul and fed it to the Golden Saint Dragon King. Its wings developed innate elemental manipulation, while the accompanying feedback allowed Qin Qi to walk, run, and maneuver through the air 95.

The Golden Saint Dragon began as a small, plump creature resembling a yellow puppy, but repeated absorption of Soul Beast essence and refined energy transformed it into a large dragon-like External Beast Martial Soul 9 11.

Personality

The Golden Saint Dragon initially has limited, animal-like intelligence but displays unwavering trust in Qin Qi, recognizing him as its master after its refinement. It is highly affectionate, frequently rubbing against him, coiling around him, and seeking praise after performing well 9 12.

It is also protective of Qin Qi. It becomes distressed when he injures himself during experiments and uses life-attribute breath to heal him. During its own transformation, it attempted to force Qin Qi away rather than let him share its pain 12 20.

Its attachment can become playful and competitive: it grew jealous when Qin Qi’s summoned Golden Dragon Claw received attention, then eagerly demonstrated its own stronger lightning attack 12.

This concern persists during later experiments. When Qin Qi asks it to scratch his arm to test his mutated Evil Fire Phoenix’s healing ability, it obeys carefully but becomes alarmed by the resulting injury and must be reassured 36.

Its intelligence improves slightly after becoming the Golden Saint Dragon King, although it remains simple-minded and affectionate. It readily follows instructions to lower its voice and shrink its body. In the forest, it shows growing initiative by patrolling the surrounding area and marking trees with its Dragon King scent before returning for praise 64 68.

Its friendly behavior is largely reserved for Qin Qi. When Ning Rongrong tries to touch it, it bares its teeth and threatens her, displaying the pride and hostility of a dragon rather than the playful demeanor it shows its master 68.

It can also reject offered resources: it refuses the Vigorous Vajra Bear’s Origin, communicating its reluctance through roars and gestures. Its jealousy later extends to Qin Qi’s Dragon Bone Spear, which receives his admiration after proving highly compatible with his Soul Power 52 80.

The feedback is visibly conveyed through a pale golden beam or golden threads connecting the dragon’s forehead to Qin Qi’s head. Major transformations can also transmit considerable pain to him, as during the Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear fusion 47 63 79 95.

The Dragon-Shaped Soul Power created by this process is neither a Soul Ring skill nor a Self-Created Soul Skill. It also enables Qin Qi to awaken the power of the Dragon Bone Spear, which ordinary Soul Power could not activate 48 82.

The Golden Saint Dragon King naturally radiates sacred light described as capable of dispelling evil things and purifying evil aura.
