Background

Yu Xiaogang entered the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan’s martial-soul awakening ceremony convinced that he would reveal exceptional dragon-lineage talent. A golden dragon-like phantom initially formed above him, prompting spectators and Yu Yuanzhen to believe that his martial soul had evolved into a superior dragon type. The manifestation destabilized, however, causing Xiaogang to vomit blood as it collapsed into the purple pig Luo Sanpao. He fainted after publicly rejecting the result. 27

His remaining hope was destroyed when his Innate Soul Power tested at level 0.5. Xiaogang blamed Luo Sanpao for his ruined future, suffered an emotional breakdown, and fled the ceremony while the clan became a subject of ridicule. 28
