Background

Lin Qing was born into an ordinary family in Dihun Village. His parents were killed by bandits while traveling to Nuoding City, leaving him orphaned at age three; the villagers supported him thereafter, with Grandpa John acting as his guardian. He had transmigrated from another world six years before his Martial Soul awakening. 1

At six, Lin Qing awakened Innate Full Soul Power and the black Nichirin Blade. He sensed a second Martial Soul at the same time but concealed it, later confirming it to be the azure-and-blue Red Spider Lily. He declined Su Yuntao’s invitation to join Spirit Hall because he feared its politics and Bibi Dong’s attention. 1 2

The Red Spider Lily immediately altered his circumstances by autonomously creating Spirit Rings and transforming him into a Demon immune to sunlight. Lin Qing is cautious, calculating, and highly conscious of the danger posed by stronger figures. He hides his Twin Martial Souls, understates the age of his Spirit Rings, maintains contact with Tang San partly to avoid provoking Tang Hao, and abandons plans that expose him to unacceptable risk. 1 7 14 18

He is confident to the point of arrogance in combat, routinely challenging accepted Soul Master limits and dismissing opponents he considers unworthy. His confidence is backed by disciplined sword and breathing training, but he is willing to conceal his full strength when open display would endanger him. 17 21 23 48
